strictly speaking no, but liberally speaking doesnt matter.

my neighbour uncle died heart attack becos another xtian neighbour come over comprain about his 1 joss stick every evening 'polluting the air'. 30yrs frenship cui overnight, plus one dead man and the other family bearing the guilt for the rest of their lives.

some things need not be too paranoia or anal.

its a culture leh
just like some christians can say they celebrate xmas and not CNY
then they Chinese for what? CNY is a culture. Its part of who he is what?

the uncle..... his own house he do a joss stick or once a day, the xtian family also need to complain? whats wrong with them seriously? they shld go buy a condo or bunglow if they so ba bai. if they think polluting then ask them buy herbal joss sticks n pass to the uncle instead of complaining. if they didnt know, joss sticks also have healing purposes if they r made of herbs. just that nowadays go commercial, heard from radio, its more of (artificial i suppose) fragrance only. its not the same joss sticks as last time unless go n find gd ones

Cannot because, lion dance and the firecrackers is because of the legend of the monster "nian" that terrorise ppl during cny..
Christians believe in nothing but their god and the associated devil.
So answer is no, unless they blasphemy (coz believe in another being that is not their god)

I was the joss stick. I am so sorry and ashamed to have caused the 30 year long friendship to be torn apart.
