Guys, currently there are two running threads. Are u guys ok if we merge them together and have a generic name instead? Like Edmw running community or something...? Let me know all right. So all running info goes into one thread easier.
Please... the other thread is for ELITE RUNNERS.... this thread is mainly for evening joggers wor

On the topic of wearables, I'm looking at the Garmin Forerunner 35 and 235 to replace my loyal but battered Forerunner 10. It's my first ever GPS running watch and it's been a blast, but 4.5 years on, I think it's time to retire it.

The FR35 and FR235 are surely upgrades of the 10, but I'm specifically looking at these aspects:

1) GPS connectivity. Sometimes, in the vicinity of high-rise buildings, or just somewhere new, it takes the watch several minutes to lock in a signal. I'm done with my stretching already but still gotta wait for it. If in a group I have to wave my friends away to start first.

2) GPS accuracy. In wide open spaces like parks/PCN, it is quite on point. But in my neighbourhood it goes off quite a bit, sometimes as bad as this:

I'm pretty sure i kept to the pavements along the road. If I could run zig-zag like this I'd be the first to sign up for the Zombie Run.

So when i get results like this I would have to manually map out the run to get a more accurate idea of what i just ran.

3) Bluetooth connectivity. The FR10 doesn't have it, so i have to hook it up to the computer and sync with Garmin Express. I know the 35 and 235 both have Bluetooth, so that's good.

4) Buttons. The right-side buttons of my FR10 are already permanently pressed inwards (because of years of use, i suppose), so if i need to scroll through my runs using the bottom right button, it doesn't really work well.

Sometimes i need to press really hard for it to react. And sometimes it just has a mind of its own and scrolls by itself.

5) Straps. I've worn out the straps twice already. Replaced once when it was still under warranty but now i just have to hold the watch face as i run.

But i discovered watch straps are quite easily available online. So not so much a biggie.

I've read through DC rainmaker and other reviews, but just wanted to hear you guys out too, if you have either the FR35 or FR235. Thanks!
My fr235 GPS oso sometimes siao one...Much better after set to per sec record n dun turn on Bluetooth during run.

Runners are runners regardless of speed.

As long you train you'll be like me. I've trained alot peeps before bro.

Even if u have my speed, I may get injured and run slower lol
