1 way to reduce your time is to pay using the kiosk. save a bit of waiting time.

My last appointment at sgh was at 4.25. I reached 4pm and waited till 6pm then my turn. Got appointment machaim no appointment like that.

Sent from my home using GAGT
Its it. Can't blame the people for feeling the system is so inefficient.

If one observed, most people go in see the doc face time think not more than 5 mins or so only. Yet everyone in between have to wait for hours in totals. What are the doc doing in between patients is a mystery.

Thought appointment is to allow them to better and more efficiently allocate their time and patients. But still the appointment like no different from walk-in. They are not seeing the patient at the allocated time, why bother force people do an appointment then. Sometimes can't help wonder if the appointment is more about planning their breaks in between rather than the patients .

Ytd was at TTSH General Surgery on emergency consultation, all in less than 2.5 hours including the 1 hour waiting time for full blood count.

3pm appt reached at 2:45pm, see my surgeon at 3:25pm, sent to do full blood count and told to see same doc at 4:45pm, 35 mins later i was on the mrt to orchard.

Lucky you don need to be warded, otherwise prepare to wait for 1/2 a day for a bed.

Usually if warded, so far quite a few times the waiting time for a bed is about 3 hours. Has never waited half a day. I usually stay in C5 class, about 5-6 patients in a non- aircon room.

If im sick and dont know whats wrong, go public hospital best. They have all the equipments and all the staff. If you go private, its heng sway if you can find the right doctor. Private side every thing also charge. Even a box of glove to be used also charge.

Long waiting times for appointments and medical investigations at Specialist Outpatient Clinics (SOCs) for subsidised patients, have been a longstanding problem. I asked about this during the COS debate three years ago, and was assured by the Minister that MOH adopts a “multi-pronged approach” to address the queues at our SOCs.

However, three years have passed and the situation does not seem to have improved. I have received feedback from a patient who needed to wait for 6 months to see a lung specialist, and another 3 months for the biopsy results. During this long wait, a patient’s condition could deteriorate and he could develop complications which are harder and more expensive to treat.

The long waiting times seem to affect subsidised patients much more than unsubsidised patients. Are these long waiting times a way that SOCs regulate subsidised patients’ demand for their services? Or are they due to insufficient resources being made available to meet subsidised patient demand?

How to improve if you keep on increasing population?

Outpatient? I think most outpatient clinics are closed at 4:30 / 5:30 lor. The doc was probably more sad than you. OTing.

Private Neighbourhood GP I need to wait 1-2hrs...
Polyclinics normal waiting time for me is 2-3hrs
My referral to specialist waiting time is always Super short one... according to appointment timing... unless I am late for appointment... then wait a bit longer...

I don't know why TS need to wait so Long....
