I Just google...
Jurong Lake District

The science center beside chinese garden mrt... wah lao gotch water front hotel at lake side there as well... I live near lake side, i rike the quiet chinese garden park, if they develop den it will be crowded with ppl le...
My friends often make of people staying in Jurong, referring it as the ulu part of Singapore.
But, as I grew older, I kind of like it, because, this makes the estates less popular (less young couples want to stay here), hence, less crowded.

So far, the only packed place is JP, usually full of Indian foreign workers and students. I used to frequent JP when I was studying, but now, I avoid that place like a plague.

Hopefully, in the future, there will still be places in Jurong, that are relatively untouched by FT and si ginnas.

hopefully that won't be the case.. ppl who want to get to the new development(s) will probably use boon lay way instead of JTH? I agree the jam is crazy.. best time to get on the AYE is before 7.50am.

right now, whenever I wanna go to down nearer to central area, say buona vista, NUH, queenstown or redhill....

i take AYE, or even boon lay way > commonwealth...

during those peak hours, sian thing is both sides also heavy traffic and slow...

taking PIE will be a longer route, but also lots of traffic

AYE Jurong Town Hall exit is already bad now, but bearable...

its also due to the heavy vehicles that constantly come down from Tuas area,

after all these malls are up, hospital up, hotel up...... a lot of people will come to shop, visit patients, or work in these establishments...

I simply cannot imagine the extent of the congestion in future

IMM will survive, it will not die. in singapore, one of the best biz is being a landlord, esp those capitaland types, got govt backing. sibei kelong. sure huat one

shops will always be leasing.

if u say certain shops die, then perhaps its true. like those small shops that sells silly things. or things that u can buy just about anywhere.

i foresee that computer shop opposite Best Denki folding. I dunno whats the name. then got 1 or 2 small handphone shops...

shops that wont die there, makan shops... they keep opening more n more. and more people will go to IMM cos hospital is just opposite.

Giant will also thrive. Best Denki maybe 50/50. Daiso sure will huat.

Parking in IMM will be a b!tch in future. no more free liao. maybe 1st hour free nia

Oh u meant lakeside mrt? Lake side there gotch space for science center meh?
there is still one open field next to Lakeside MRT station, though, they will have to make the new science centre a bit smaller, and tear down the recently built covered walk ways.

but, it feels kind of weird to have a centre built in close proximity to residential estates.
I always thought the government would rather build more condos there.
