Singapore family in New Zealand car crash; 10-year-old girl critically injured

A Singapore family holidaying in New Zealand lost control and crashed their car on Wednesday morning (New Zealand time). A 10-year-old girl who was in the car is fighting for her life in an Auckland hospital, reported the New Zealand Herald.

The newspaper reported that the accident happened at about 11.15am, when the Toyota Rav4 the family was in hit a tree and rolled over on a road near Lake Rotorua, a popular holiday destination in New Zealand's North Island. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, the paper added.

The family of five, made up of the parents, twins aged 10 and an older brother, were then sent to Rotorua Hospital. The 10-year-old girl, who suffered serious head injuries, was subsequently flown to Starship Hospital in Auckland by an air ambulance.

Rotorua Senior Station Officer Jim Prescott told the Herald that the passenger side of the car was seriously damaged, and that both doors had to be removed before the family could be rescued. The paper added that the family were on a two-week vacation and were due to fly back to Singapore on Saturday.

Could be the RAV4.

My choice of car in Australia and NZ is anything that is 3.6L and above V6. Best of the bunch? Toyota Aurion.

Hopefully pull through.

Yeah. Driving in NZ is very relaxing. Just do not speed. Almost everyone sticks to the speed limit.
Holiday must relax and not drive at lengths too
