Famous? LOL !
All Sinkies would go NUS or local uni for medicine if admitted.
Bo pian then pay $tons$ to study medicine overseas.

Heck that famous ieatishootipost Doctor was from Usyd

Heard of ranking ?
Just because one 'famous guy' doesn't make the
ranking.

Actually theyre well known worldwide - much more so than NUS/NTU im afraid to say. Did you know Buzz Aldrin (second man on the moon), James Mattis (current secdef then 4 star general) came by last year?

Outside of Singapore probably... in Singapore people will look down on your distance degree
Depends if HR just let them through. Imagine kena interview by an actual Usyd graduate. Ask you about the campus and all and you have to say "actually, I was from the Clementi Branch in Singapore". Then kena check and later get a "sorry, the position has just been filled".

True enough. Although in paper conscious Singapore, not having the right credentials will discount you entirely even before you've begun.

I had the choice of employing a NUS graduate with about 5-10 years of experience or an O levels grad with 20 years of experience recently. This was for a mid-level management role.

Needless to say, the sec4 guy got rejected before even an interview despite possessing excellent recommendations (from a background check) and vast experience.
You see stat boards and the likes only care about paper certification know riao.

NLB library events organiser job also need minimum a degree and a few years of experience.

Sent from a non-existant account in a non-existant world without using GAGT

Good news is that G08, USydney included, is recognised by the Singaore government even for medicine and law. Heck that famous ieatishootipost Doctor was from Usyd
The even better news is that many non-GO8 degrees are recognised as well even for medicine and law.

You guys should not agonise over which uni is better. A good friend of mine, got his degree from SIM but he is doing well well in the banking sector. And no, he does not have connections - brought up in 4 room flat, attended neighbourhood school, started his working life as a salesman (not in the banking sector). And, no, his wife is also not connected, in fact same background as him.

But he has drive and he was determined to succeed. So he worked hard and climbed to where he is today. Staying in landed and drive satki car but still extremely humble.

Brag about the books you read and the knowledge you gain, not which university you came from
