spurs 1-1 chelsea

sigurdson scores; and of course, mata's assist for the equalizer

marred by this ugly incident from a controversial player in many ways
torres.gif

ref gave a red card in the end to make up for the incident, FA labeled a disgrace/a farce by all after not taking action post game.

dembele impressed by bossing then acclaimed chelsea midfield
MOTM: Moussa Dembele (Spurs) v Chelsea {Individual Highlights}

some sporting moments

luiz tweeted: “This is football! Was so nice to play against you bro @paulinhop8 ! Isto é futebol! Foi mto legal jogar contra vc irmão! #geezer #cfc”

nice guy so unlike the "aggro"-style that mourinho cultivates in his team.

:) FINALLY a poor game from Spurs.

goals #1 AND #2 were from a lucky bounce... don't think W Ham can repeat that type of goal again but it came against the tide. Third one was a great solo effort, no arguments there.

Oh well, next game to look foward to. A 0-3 loss to a london rival is perfect to forge character and resilience.

AVB needs more teeth up front and Defoe doesn't seem to be the right person for it...

Perhaps the fatigue has caught up, AVB did provide a warning on the density of games for spurs : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ies-Tottenham-Hotspur-fixture-congestion.html

TOTTENHAM FIXTURE 'PILE-UP'

Thu 19 Oct - Europa League: Tromsø (h)

Sun 22 Oct - Premier League: Cardiff (a)

Tue 24 Oct - Capital One Cup: Aston Villa (a)

Sat 28 Oct - Premier League: Chelsea (h)

Thu 03 Nov - Europa League: Anzhi (a)

Sun 06 Nov - Premier League: West Ham (h)

Playing and winning multiple games is something the team and staff will have to get used to now. Looking at the next game to see spurs bounce back. COYS!

UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE 25/10/2013 1:00

Sheriff Tiraspol
Tottenham Hotspur

7(2) Shots (on goal) 8(3)
8 Fouls 6
6 Corner kicks 5
9 Offsides 2
45% Time of Possession 55%
1 Yellow Cards 1
0 Red Cards 0
4 Saves 3

Verts 0-1

Defoe 0-2

Jermain Defoe equalled Martin Chivers' club record of 22 European goals for Tottenham. The 31-year-old, now in his second spell with the north Londoners, rifled home his sixth of this year's Europa League to help Spurs secure a 2-0 victory. Not only did it leave the Spurs on the cusp of the knockout stages, but the strike saw Defoe equal Chivers' long-standing European scoring record. The former England striker was part of the UEFA Cup-winning side of 1972 - a feat the current Spurs side look capable of matching.

Highlight of the game was Chiriches the new ** who had a goal line save (great sweeper keepering by loris there)

and then this!

quite sure AVB saw that and will have a chat with him about it :D

spurs' europa league wins doesnt mean much as most of the oppositions are sub standard.

spurs seem to have problem scoring against teams in the premiership. 9 goals in 9 matches is not a good sign. and how many from open play?

players from last season's last game against sunderland:

25 Hugo Lloris
5 Jan Vertonghen
20 Michael Dawson
28 Kyle Walker
32 Benoit Assou-Ekotto - season loan
2 Clint Dempsey - sold to MLS
6 Tom Huddlestone - sold to Hull

7 Aaron Lennon - injured most of the season, 2 starts
8 Scott Parker - sold to Fulham
11 Gareth Bale - sold to R madrid
10 Emmanuel Adebayor - injured/displaced by soldado - zerp starts

Its more than half a team chopped and changed, my view is that is rather comforting that Spurs are still comfortably in the top 4 despite not playing at full potential.

Most significant is the departure of one-man-show Bale who scored 21 goals in 33 league appearances. And that's exactly where the issue is - how do you replace a goal machine?

AVB has his job cut out for him, but spurs have bought wisely - Lamela 21, Eriksen 21, Holtby 22, townsend 22, is where the creativity and supply is supposed to come from - but they are still very young and will need some time. That said, there has been some encouraging flashes of brilliance - so as the fans say": "The future is bright, the future is lilywhite"

the major football sites hardly talk about spurs.

its seems nobody believe spurs have the ability to win the title.

Leicester dropped 2 points.

Spurs can go top on goal difference if they beat west ham tomorrow.

other than winning the title this season the best revenge spurs can get on arsenal is to beat them tomorrow and kill their title hopes.

lets see hw they bounce bak on Sunday. i tink even with the main XI we won't be able to win dortmund. our young squad is not at that level yet. we are fortunate in the league due to the downfall of the traditional big 4

Kane's Cruyff turn before scoring was a moment of brilliance in what was a high pressure situation for England

if that's Emre Can then its arsenal, liverpool and spurs there
