I stay Ibis hotel beside the centraal station. That area very convenient.

I have friends stay very near red light district.

Last trip I stay at hotels near the Schnipol Airport. Cheap n good.

May I suggest you visit Anne Frank Museum, Restoran Castell for their prime ribs n steak.

district which is convenient traveling by tram would be spui, dam & leidseplein. These places have a lot of restaurants nearby. :)

centraal is the best district, you have the trams to the airport and almost all parts of amsterdam.

its not a big city, so everywhere's walk-able.

can't recommend accommodation as I have not been there yet.

But i'm staying in this airbnb https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2005645 for my nov trip. :) Ard Sgd $150 per night, walkable from Amsterdam Centraal.

They are able to "lend" us their Museum pass for Eur 10 each, and from what I read, there's no issue with using it.

Location seems great and it's near Jordaan area which has many nice restaurants (based on online reviews).

Now, am keeping my fingers crossed and hope it's as good as what others reviewed it to be. :)
