hey guys, my hair is pretty long now, fringe can cover half my face.
was thinking of cutting a normal, short neat but the top abit spike up with wax de hairstyle.

any recomendations on where to cut.. budget maybe 20-30? (first time cut this kinda price, usually 8 to 12 bucks)

also any tips on how to describe to the stylist/hair dresser?
Best way to describe to hairdresser is to bring a picture or a hair magazine with the hairstyle you want and show it to him/her.

Hello XiaoDar, dunno u rem me anot. Still rem awhile back u posted tat u wanna get rid of ur hair frizzy-ness last time in this thread, back a long time ago. Last time I used to think ur problem prolly isn't really tat serious, but after seeing ur pics it looks like it did seems like a major problem, at least that's what it seems like it to me. (and no don't worry been vain isn't anything wrong actually, since nowadays guys can be metrosexual as well, no worries now's the 21st Century le, we're not in 18th Century lol)

Those who're working in hair salons like Kazana_Chris, please correct me if I'm wrong, but usually to my knowledge hair rebonding is only a temporary solution, it's definitely not a permanent solution to frizzy or damaged hair, in fact you can say that rebonding/chemical straightening sort of worsens the hair roots, so regular hair treatment maintenence is required as a matter of fact. (those tat needs to be done at salons)

Besides hair straightening/rebonding only resolves your current damaged/curly hair texture and condition usually from the tip of the hair end, to near the roots (not underneath) of the hair scalp. If you find that your hair still frizzes alot, time to invest in a good conditioner like what Kazana_Chris has mentioned, and also some leave-on anti-frizz products out there.

Another reason why I would think ur hair is so dry and frizzy, is there may be something wrong with your current shampoo, or ur current conditioner sucks and not really working for u. And yes trust me, according to each person's hair condition and texture, some hair shampoos out there are just not meant for certain people. (for example: Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat shampoo recommended by Ryoshi bro last time on this thread before, does not really suit my hair personally as it tends to dry it up too much, and I'm not those kind who uses conditioner with every wash normally, maybe like only 2 or 3 times a week?)

You might wanna invest in a better hair shampoo/condition, as well as some anti-frizz products. If you interested in japanese shampoo lemme know, maybe I take a pic of my shampoo let you try, it's a moisture hair shampoo by Arimino (not scalp shampoo) much better than what I had tried locally, recommended by my hairstylist at Shunji Matsuo. (last time before tat I used to use Pantene and Asience personally, both are alright to me but not great)

These are currently what I can offer as advice, sorry since I'm not really professional, just someone who likes to play with hair occasionally so these are from my personal experience so far. Hope your hair condition gets better soon. ^ ^
u or kazana chris got any anti fizz leave on serum to recommend?
i just went to buy asience shampoo and conditioner for dry and damaged hair de =x

hi guys. i'm looking to have a haircut maybe sometime in the next 1-2 weeks, den i've been lurking here for awhile, so decided maybe going komachi cut. i don't mind cutting once nice nice for a sum, go try and see. But first, i got alot of questions, hope someone can answer them

1. whats the rates for maeda and tsuji, cos i go their webby see, like very confusing, dunno which is "International Director","Creative Director" etc etc.

2. whos better :XX cos like alot of reviews for both stylists

3. erm there seems to be 2 komachi outlets, 1 at liang court and another at liat towers. First-timer 20% off is it applicable to both outlets?

4. my jap is zzzz, i don't speak a word of jap, well maybe a few... will i have huge problem communicating?

5. i don't have any particular hairstyles in mind, so if i go there and tell him just cut, will results be good? :/ or maybe someone can link me to a webby with some hairstyles to browse through, that would be fantastic

6. Lastly, what wax/clay to buy. i've read that joico erratic molding clay is not bad, but i dunno where to find (supercuts??) . the other wax i have in mind is the Lucidol wax (red colour bottle with most holding power) How would u guys rate these 2 waxes?

hehe thx for reading and hopefully, answering my questions

Hey,
1:For Maeda first timers is $65,but if student rate is $55,As for tsuji im not really sure.

2:I only tried Maeda cos i just went there for the first time few days ago,but hes really good.

3:I went to the liang court 1 and first timer price is still applicable, till end of the month before they change the pricing again,i think.

4:U wont really have problems communicating with him cos i oso dont really noe jap, just noe "hai" can already, lol

5:If u trust his skill and wans to try,den dont bring pic,but if u roughly have an idea what hairstyle u wan,u might wan to show him,he will still cut it very uniquely. And he will also see ur face shape and hair texture before cutting,u can ask him whether what hairstyle suits ur face shape. You can try going bombhead.com

6:He would recommend the new Samourai wax, which in my opinion i think is quite good, but its abit ex,u can ask Haonan to bring in the wax if u wan,he says he can get it for a cheaper price. Its selling at $32 at Komachi, quite ex ):

Yeah thats all i noe already, sry if i couldnt be of much help

The price-rate is $80 for both Maeda-san and Ejima-san.
For Tsuji-san, it will be $70, but you can enjoy 20% discount on your first visit. (You need someone to refer you there.)

Hey thx alot bro, u were a great help. Hmm now the only thing i'm confused about is the price Maeda seems to be "stationed" at Liang Court, so if i go there, do i need referral or anything to get the 20% discount? and student price is those under 18yo rite, well i'm 17 so am i entitled to it ? o.0 so if student price = 55 bucks?

haha ok i understand.. but my whole family only i kenna sia, sad =(

wow got scalp/hair shampoo .. aiya i'm using clear anti-dandruff, dun normal market shampoos nourish ur hair to some extent too? or are they marketing gimmicks =( ...

Well i got dry hair... have been reading the thread up to page 216 now lol omg >.> .. based on wat i read i should skip shampooing when i dun exercise/get dirty and just clean with water or maybe put conditioner... n yea i dun have oily scalp so i guess that's all right
i nvr buy the lotion leh =x
got lotion one meh? i nvr see dao wor =x
i also wanna know.. my hair something like urs but not as bad as ur rebonded pics u

Sorry guys work commitments i dont get on hwz forums much now like once a few days and hwz forums are so slow to load at night make it worst..

Salemaster its not gimmick but like technology advances the ingredients and processes that make shampoo differs just from size of molecules and of coz better ingredients itself
As R&D improves so does the quality of products.
Market shelf products are being mass produced they have large molecules thus slower and limited absorption rate. they only meet ur very basic needs for hair to be clean. Thus those with natural frizzy or wavy hair or simply those with not so good hair genetics like others will not fare well with just normal basic shelf products.
Professional salon on the other hand is like smaller molecules..better specifics nutrients for very specialised needs cater for many different kinds of hair conditions and problems.
Scalp shampoo likewise. Like people always say nano technology..
what does it actually means? it means i can pay 50 bucks for a hand lotion and i wipe on my hand and it absorbs almost instanteously due to the smaller molecules and higher technology requirement to produce it.And u cant compare to a bottle of just nivea hand lotio or some ****.And with better absorption we use better ingredients when we have direct access to the deeper inner layer of the skin likewise to the hair layers of hair
not only does professional salon products have stronger penetration(<=to describe absorption) which goes deeper into the hair layers to moisture it..I guess i need no further elaboration.
Since u said u dont have oily scalp..u still shd wash ur scalp n hair but not rubbin it so intensively. Just shampoo it thru brieftly to clear the sweat..residue from styling products
dust from environment..etc..if u exercise of coz wash more thoroughly..since u guys dont really use scalp conditioner just avoid the scalp at all cost..spread a small amount on ur palm and spread it uniformly on ur hair just like styling..grab ur hair from midlength to the ends its easy this way.

I'll recommend a good revitalising creme since ur frizziness is really outta control
sry i lazy to post pics ill just drop a link
http://www.gorgeousshop.co.uk/shop/k...25mls-168.html
http://www.gorgeousshop.co.uk/shop/k...75mls-177.html
Another 1 i would recommend is tsubaki condition & treatment (not sure sg got anot)
sry im not sure about the price i would say its nearly 30 or so? i guess..i dont work locally in sg so i cant confirm it
even better i can try goldwell kerasilk shampoo and conditioner those are really good for moisture..once u replenish hair moisture ur hair shd be definitely half or more as frizzy as it well..rest is just go for anti frizzy cream or some straightening serum (those that are treatment nature not styling)
From my pov..singaporeans dont take care of the condition to the extent like taiwan (atm im workin at tw)
i even have cosmetic water for hair just to replenish my hair and smoothen it when i feel my hair reallys need some quick nutrients
after a shampoo as such..
PM me for more information if needed
