xiaokaka, thanks for your comments.

Ya, I tried to change my earsocks and I was told that I nee to wait for about 6 weeks for the stock to arrive! I am not even talking about frames here, just 'spare parts'!

xiaokaka, hence what frames would you recommend for quality, say for about $250 - $350 price range?

TIA for replies.

Prob Nike. I recently made 1 Nike with SOLA prescription polarized lens in grey 75% tint for my brother.

thanks. then does it also mean tat more skills is required from the lab technician for mounting semi-rimmed & rimless frames?

So do you mean to say for the half or no rim frames, the lens can get spoilt more easily? How about the secure-ness of lens? Is it true that full rim is also the most secure way of holding the lens?

Im just wondering, becos i dont work in the lab, do the lab technicians hate the half-rim & rimless jobs cos its more hassle for them? Need to tie the nylon and drill holes etc. So will these be more prone to workmanship errors. Wonders how much more time they take to do those half rim / rimless frames compared to full rim.
Rimless is more complicated as techs need to align and drill holes into new lenses and secure them in new frames.

If u ever drop a Full Frame, impact most likely goes to the frame around the lens. protecting it.

If u drop a Rimlon(nylon) or rimless.. guess who will take in the impact?

Thanks for the recommendation, xiaokaka.

If I may ask further, what about Reebok frames?

Hi,

I am going to buy a Swissflex frame + lenses. Nanyang quoted me 320 but the design look ugly. Capitol Optical quoted 400 and 460. The 460 one look nicer.

Do you think the price in Capitol Optical reasonable? carrot chop or not??

Good frame is important. What is the point of paying a lot for lens and the frame is so heavy and uncomfortable?

are there any online spectacles dealer that allow me to test the spec frame online?

Look at details imo, what lenses they giving and which series of swissflex?

Different series of swissflex cost differently, same case with lenses.
