If you are not OC, there's no need to get the K CPUs. Frankly speaking, you don't have to spend 3K to get a good rig for gaming.

Nvidia GTX 970 is probably the best high-end GPU right now, considering value and performance and power consumption.

Since your budget allows, go for a seasonic psu and maybe a corsair casing which is more airy. You can go for the 4790k chip as well if you want to but more importantly, you don't need the most expensive mobo in the market to oc well. The above quote is good as well.

Seasonic and Superflower are both very good manufacturers.
You can't really go wrong with either.

Seasonic X-650 KM3 650W Review
Super Flower Leadex Gold 750W Review

The SF Leadex actually performs a better in terms of ripple but that's nitpicking.

So, you can decide between Leadex 650W @ $139, 5 years warranty or Seasonic X 650 @ $165, 7 years warranty. That'll be the main difference.

The Seasonic G650, $145 is a level of performance behind the Leadex, so the Leadex would be better value at this price level.

MSI GTX970 Gaming @ $579
Base Clock 1051 MHz
Boost 1279 MHz

Palit GTX970 Jetstream @ $528
Base Clock 1152 MHz
Boost 1304 MHz

Any reason why MSI instead?

TF5.

Their latest cooler works very nicely. Looking at fps, they are pretty much on par but look at temps and can see MSI is about 10% lower.

Also, iirc, MSI consumes lesser power too. So I guess the extra cost is for durability

MSI's fans + heat pipes = +1
Under full load, the card is cooler. If you are looking at price to performance ratio, the palit gtx 970 is definitely a better choice. But since your budget is high.. then

No one looks at just base clock that is so small difference that the most give you 2fps.

Msi, the card size is less than 2 slots, new thermal design cooler unlike palit jetstream that has the same fan blades for ages. Direct superpipe use, with good torx fans. 0dbm with cards on idle temps such as anything below 50deg.

The other 2 items are good deals.

Online purchase v dangerous. Very easy to just add items and buy. When bill comes than feel the pinch~ :s13:

Just cancel that WD order. Its $37 more exp. Anyway i need to go SLS pick up the other components so its really just about cost saving. :D
