Contemplating to get either Asus 8400GS or Asus EN 210 for my next pc.
Reason, Intel or ATI's have poor driver support in Linux. nVidia with either 8400GS or Asus EN 210 can enable hardware acceleration for Full HD playback even with a low end processor like Zacate E-350 in linux. Assuming 8400GS And EN 210 is similarly priced, should I get the EN 210 be better? Or should I get GT 220 for higher price? I supposed for Full HD playback, either EN 210 or GT 220 should be same. All I want is to use it to playback Full HD video. No gaming. http://techgage.com/article/asus_gef...t_220_gt_240/3

The data from Toms, Anand, Guru, HardOcp all points to many assumptions/prejudices for CF/SLI debunked actually with current crop of cards ![]()

Hi Expert here,
I am looking for a new graphic card to replace my old ATI 3870. I read the 5850 is the best bang for the buck, however, if it's out of stock, will 6850 a better buy compared to 5830? |

I would pay careful attention at SRP of HD 6850 but the $244 XFX looks good ^^ For a small top up at $255 there is the MSI Cyclone edition @ PC Themes

Thank you for the advice.
I fnally went for the 5830 to save cost plus I do not really need the power of 6850. ![]() I would pay careful attention at SRP of HD 6850 but the $244 XFX looks good ^^ For a small top up at $255 there is the MSI Cyclone edition @ PC Themes |

No choice, cannot locate any 5850 from SLS, even at Best price, no more stocks and shops will not bring in anymore.
hence, make final decision to spend less on my pocket to get 5830 extreme. Congrats on buying yourself a crippled 5870,not only does it consumes more power than 5850,performance is also lower than 5850 |

I believe you do recommend guys like us to get it from Tradepac. I got it from Tradepac and I paid $155
![]() When I installed the card, I realised new Sapphire card required 2 PCI-E power connector, luckily, my PSU is able to support it. ![]() Does 5830 really used more power than 6850 (in terms of electricity)? Oh well gxgx on buy - hope u got the $155 HD 5830 @ PC Themes |
