Congrats! Enjoy your rig!

Anyway, can share why pick R3 1200? Doesn't seem like a popular choice.

Mainly budget... and yes I think the 1600 would be much better at future proofing. But I think for gaming in general, from what I understand, even games are not using 4 cores fully. The 1200 can be OC easily for a quite a performance bump.

So how is pubg performing in your rig? Not that this helps but I thought youtube shows that g4560 with 1060 performs better than r3 1200 with 1060 and cheaper.

Hi guys,

I've been out of the PC gaming scene for a pretty long time and thinking of getting back into it just for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. After reading up a little, like URL HERE.

I'm looking to build something with a 1060 (3 or 6gb?) for a mid range gaming PC within a m-itx build.

Considerations:
  1. m-itx build, minimalist as possible.
  2. Love Fractal Design casings, but open to others like Corsair or Silverstone.
  3. Accessories not required, OS requried.
  4. Knows nuts about oc-ing, so won't be doing any OC.
  5. Cooling, air cooled sufficient?
  6. Budget, I'm trying to keep it as low as possible but not to "waste" the 1060.

Thanks in advance!

u might wanna consider upping ur budget abit..

i got my asrock h270 performance + i5 7500 @$410.
gskill 8gb 2400 $115 (qoo10 with voucher)
evo 850 ssd 250gb $139 (qoo10 with voucher) or consider hdd $59-63 (Toshiba 1tb)

Thanks though but I already built up my com, parts in my earlier POST HERE.

Here is the final setup, tucked away in the corner, plant for added 1-2 FPS.

Nice clean look, see that you are using ps4 controller. Using that for pc as well? Using what software? I tried ds4windows but it sucks, inputmapper better but still not good enough. Best is still using ps3 controller, using that I need not open software app at all, just either connect cable or press ps button for Bluetooth can liao.

Use steam. You can add non-steam games and configure controller so it works with most games. For bluetooth, as long as you paired using windows, the controller works already.

Im using above setup so can guarantee that it works.

Just ran a few tests on the G20 units i had lying around

I5-6400 with GTX950 = Medium 40-50FPS @ FHD. Fared much better @ Low

I7-4790 with GTX1060
Medium
40-50 at native res 3840x1080 144hz
>60fps @ 1920x1080 144hz

High =
40 - 45 @3840x1080 144hz
avg 50-60fps @ 1920x1080 144hz

I would say at this stage, a 1060 would be the bare minimum with an I5
