Hello AMD... welcome to 2017, what are you doing with 8 *** in an APU?

Oh well it's a mobile processor so might be excusable

Here's hoping we might actually see PS4 Slim level of APU from desktop APUs.

But srsly tho, can't they just make a mainboard + CPU combo that matches PS4 Pro?

I wonder how much power will this require. Intel's ULV processors, especially the latest Core i5/i7 8xxx series are severely power starved @ 15W. With both CPU and GPU at load, it cannot sustain at its advertised clockspeed for long. Therefore, its performance don't seem much better as compared to its dual core predecessors.

That was the same with the NUC unless you unlock the cTDP up in BIOS.

Though with laptops, the priority is better battery life while still being usable. Part of the battery life factor is also noticeably impacted by WLAN radio. Hope these laptops will not have a decent WiFi radio omitted. Since past pro APUs did have a Intel WiFi option there's probably no hard restriction.

Wonder how this product will fare in its battery runtime. There are 1 day battery life laptops already and I hope it makes it into one of those.

Even some of the AMD motherboards come with Intel Gigabit Ethernet adapter so they are pretty much welcomed...

AMD WILL NEVER try to annihilate sales of the consoles by releasing something of similar performance...
