Love the quality 4k provides but i understand serious hardware is needed. Money not an issue but still looking for most bang for buck. Don't need extremely high end.

Revamping my DIY build.

I must have:
  • 2 x 4k monitors
  • 16gb ram
  • 80% work, 15% photoshop, 5% gaming

When gaming, don't mind on single screen but must be smooth at 60mhz.

What kinda of build would you recommend? Also, if any, what kind of electricity consumption is used for 12 hrs work daily?

Are all these necessary for the dual 4k or it's for gaming? I see many OC items inside which is not needed. I spend 5% of the time gaming.

Work is defined as 30-40 Chrome tabs (some with paused Youtubes), 5 excels, photoshop (idle), google drive (occasionally syncing).

PC is left on 12 hours per day. Any idea of CPU, GPU and monitors' electricity consumption?

Your request of not 1 but 2 4K panels inevitably requires an X79/X99 Setup to house enough graphic cards to drive all dem pixels, stably.. Perhaps others will have better opinions than mine..
A Z97 Build is possible as well.. You'll be limited to 2x GTX 980.. Normal workload shud run fine.. When gaming can shut off one monitor and dedicate the power from 2 980s to 1 single 4K panel.

1) What games do you play?
2) (Very important) Do you mind NOT gaming at max settings? If you want to game on max settings on a single 4K monitor, you will need at least a GTX 970 SLI to play top tier 'AAA' games smoothly. (60FPS not guaranteed.)

Since I dont spend a lot of time gaming, playing at normal setting is fine (i've never needed to play at max game settings).

In that case, would the other components and CPU at that performance still required?

Thanks for advise. I'll reconsider the 4k. What about 2k dual monitor then? What kind of hardware difference would one expect with same usage requirements?
