If im not wrong, the main difference is that P5K-E has 2 PCIE 16x slots for crossfire support (dual ATI video cards on 1 motherboard) whereas P5K-SE doesn't have it.

These range of P35 motherboards should last 2-3 years without problems but do note IT products move fast and before you know it, time to upgrade.

There are more differences which you could check on the web.

Fellow members help to verify and correct if im wrong. :)

For video cards, SGD300-500, might as well settle for 8800GTS 320mb version, retails for about SGD460-480.
(some may ask you to wait as the 8800GT is arriving soon, price intro was touted to be SGD500++ i think)

Most brands are 2 years warranty except for Asus which is 3 years warranty.

There are reviews in HWZ for a few 8800gts 320mb range of video cards, do note that there is the default clock speed versions and also the souped up versions which definitely calls for a price difference.

Icic...thx for the info...well..i heard of the up coming 8800GT, but i'm not quiet sure wat r the starting prices yet. So still deciding should i buy first or not. Was worried if i wait too long, the prices may change too fast. Somemore if i buy now, when the 8800GT comes out, the 8800GTS prices later drop. Then i will regret buying it now..X_X Abt the mainboard...still deciding on Asus P5k-SE or P5k-E. Anyone got any better motherboard to suggest? My range is 400-600. Thx! :s13:

I am thinking of building the below jig:

2 x Kingston PC6400 1 Gig Ram

Seagate SATAII 320 GB Hard disk

AMD X6000 / Intel Core 2 Duo 6750
(In term of price vs performance ratio, it seem X6000 will be a better choice. But i am attracted to the L2 4MB cache offered by 6750. Will a 4MB cache be useful as I like to open a lot of background program)

Another thing, there so many MOBO to choose from. Which mobo do you recommend??
Stable, problem free, cheap are the criterias.

Power Colour X1950 Pro / Leadtek 8600 256 MB GTS HDCP
(Hard to decide, should i go for DX10 or better performance??)

Samsung S183L 18x DVD RW SATA

Cooler Master Centurion 5

Cooler MAster Extreme Plus 460W or 550W

Will not be overclocking

if your budget allows, get E6750. otherwise X2 6000+ will do just fine. dont think you can get any more 1950PRO in SLS liao. get some other PSU. check out my thread as well.

Hi, I'm building a computer for my sister, doesnt have to have good specs.

She only uses it to surf the internet, and use it occasionally to run educational programs for her daughter.

Her only demand is a nice and big screen, so I was thinking of getting a 21 inch widescreen for her.

As for the other specs, any recommendations? No real budget, but specs can be crappy, not meant for playing games, or any rendering...etc
