Can try it at Sony store and see whether does it suit you or not.
I have tested before and post here:

http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/h...duct-|mdr-z1r|1000x|wm1z-|nw-a36-5473951.html

Few key feature of the new WM1A is the option to tap onto
the it's internal DAC settings like native DSD, high gain output
finally for high impedance earpiece or headphone at 70 ohms and above.

As the test set that I play was just a demo set, actual retail set
maybe different.
If you have compatible 4.4mm balanced jack earpiece or headset, this is where this Walkman will shine.

Sony store at IMM or 313.
To get the most of the walkman, your A3 can get Sony/Kimber Cable
custom cables if you are still using stock cable especially the 4.4mm balanced which may be
available in the future.

The WM1A definitely an upgrade from the ZX2 I would say.
It's been 2 weeks since I've got hold of the WM1A. Im currently using the WM1A with the 4.4mm Balanced Cable to my Noble K10s.

A more spacious presentation and definitely less warm-sounding than the ZX2 (or ZX2 + PHA-3) on both Balanced and Single-End connections. Detail retrieval is amazing, especially through the 4.4mm Balanced plug, I could effortlessly hear the minute details in the background, and I would attribute this to the more expansive presentation of the music.

I would also like to emphasize to give the walkman a proper burn-in as stated by Sony themselves (200hrs), as my initial impressions of the walkman when I demo-ed at Sony store which had about <10hr burn in was... meh. :)

Anyway, for those who intend to get the Walkman, ill suggest getting the bluetooth remote control too, it is extremely convinient especially when you intend on using it regularly outside:)

Where did you get the remote from?
Amazon?
Cuz I check with Sony SG they say they are not bring in the handy remote.

Tiagong if buy the SONY 4.4mm Kimber Cable, buy from malaysia rm389 only. Now still slowly burning in the 3.5mm but my non-audiophile grade ears don't really hear any obvious differences.

Varies on your DAP and earpiece you use.
Better cable have EMI shielding, better power handling hence
better SQ but again depends on your DAP.

Doubt so, those cable by Sony are for Sony own earpiece/headphones.
Other headset, maybe have to either do custom cable or
ask Kimble Kable whether they do or not.

Clarification: I mean I didn't hear any differences in burning in but then again I'm still at 80 hours. Only listen it during my travelling time and some free time at night. Should be able to exceed 200 hours by the time my 4.4mm cable is ready. Then the whole process will start again lol.

I wonder does the Kimble Kable compatible with Andromeda

Should be. Since it is standard MMCX. And shall some people using it on their iems with MMCX connectors.

What DAP did you come from anyway? Even with my therium silver single ended cable I could hear the differences in sound stage and low-end with my K10s, I came from ZX2 with Mojo and PHA2/3.

Yup and it costs much cheaper in malaysia so I bought the cable from there. Lucky I bought it earlier cause theres a backlog now

I ordered from jaben my
Hope they deliver soon

Think you need to try another earphone with it. Should be something wrong with either the player or earphone. Running at range of 60s with gain setting on low.

3.5 or 4.4mm jack?
Have you enable the high gain?
It's typical that near max on the 3.5mm in order for some
earpiece to work.

4.4mm jack no such issue but my test is done with the Sony MDR-Z1R.
You can try send back Sony and see what they say.
