Does it sound dark like the LCD2? That was my main gripe with LCD2.
I think you can ask in the T50RP official thread, or better yet look around for LFF or other similar figures' reviews of the unmodded version. If I recall correctly, before modding it's quite bass light, has a very "black background" and lacks the high-end. The mods are intended to improve the bass light and lacking top-end nature of the headphone.

But don't quote me on this.

anyway shouldnt u be looking at the graphs of the modded versions? cos iirc, u shouldnt buy t50rp if u dun wan to mod and there is little reason not to mod.

The one that I have now. It is very bassy headphone without overpowering the sweet mids

I have another one on the way to Singapore. The real thunderpants with the Stax O2 earpad.

Yes, will have to mod, but mod will add additional cost which puts more expensive headphones in the picture.

Dont have to be woodified

Foam, blutack, felt, etc can do the job

IMO, if spend $800-900 for a thunderpants , lcd-2 is still much a better choice

If u read the rastapants mod, u dun really need expensive wood cups. U just need some cheap stuff as alamakazam mentioned. Apparently the lff phantom and rastapants are both better sq wide than thunderpants and both dun use wood cups

diy mod is trial by error...

daiso, art friend , can find all type of art and craft material

except for WOOD

well at $120 is very good price, if u like vocals, they are non-sibilant, they are sweet, probably need to get lcd-2 at $1200 to get this type of signature

As i am a Grado and ER4 user for many years, my ears has customed to the higher mid-treble. Pretty hard for me to accept the sound signature of LCD2, even though I absolutely loved the strong sub-bass.
