To all the ATH-M50X users, do you guy faced a problem with the headband flaking off after a year or so? My headphone is white and is very similar to this situation shown in the photo I found on google search.

Is this a frequent problem due to Singapore's high humidity? Any aesthetically more pleasing way to fix this? I saw someone mentioned about a $2 fix from Daiso but that one is probably more suitable for black headphone and not white. Thanks for any advice in advance.

You mean peel like this? My ath m50 (non x version) also peel like this after couple years. I just kinda ignore it and just use it. Think you can buy those headphone band with button kind that wraps around the headphone band around $10 on qoo10 that time thinking of buying for my m50 also. Tried finding the $2 thingy from daiso but cannot find.

My friend just duck tape a piece of black handkerchief around the head band.

Haha, yes indeed, this is how my headband had peeled off, except that mine is white so the flakes stick to my hair cannot use while outdoor. :s13: Do you have the link to the Qoo10 item? Many thanks.

Geta wet tissue ready, use your thumb and friction to run away all the PU leather, wipe them down. The end result is very pleasing and not ugly at all

I tried using iron on, leather band covers etc, the best is still running everything off. It may seem messy, but the outcome is great, not aot of effort required also

Bro, I found this on amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00862522A/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1O44Z2C3OZAM9) but too bad the next day when I'm gonna make a purchase it went out of stock. Now just waiting for the stock to replenish. You mentioned you've tried leather band too, have you tried this before? I think it might look ok with my white M50x. :s13:

This is the only one on amazon which has positive reviews and confirm can fit M50x, just that have to cut out original headband to make it fit better. There are other variants sold by other sellers but no review so far. Links as follows.

Safest bet is to wait for stock to replenish. Meanwhile, I'll go with your method. :)

Try aliexpress or ebay. They will have it too and prob cheaper. I got mine from ebay for my DT990 a few months ago for about US$6 including shipping. Quite comfortable and quality is decent too.
