i bought my metrofi170 at $69 in the last IT show....
freebies were an airplane adaptor and a belkin 5 way splitter...

however, there's one thing i didn't like about the metrofi.... everytime the wire knocks against my shirt (or anything), i can hear the "impact"

so do try the earphones first... i didn't notice it when I tried them out during the show..

hi
if you are looking for bass
you can try out the sennheiser cx series
and buy it from www.womaiheadphone.blogspot.com
You again? Better check with your friend if he's selling real stuff first. If he's not sure, send his product to Sennheiser Service Centre. I'm sure they'll be glad to help you.

This effect is known as microphonics. Maybe you can try to wind the earphones over your ears before inserting?

There are after-market cables that are braided and will reduce the microphonics. Westone ES2 cable is one good example.

You can try Westone in ears. I've been using Westone UM2 for 3 yrs now, and it has served me very well. But i think it is over your budget. But it is worth! Go ask for a testing and you won't regret! hehe

point noted! thanks.

just that curling around the ear is abit difficult since the metrofi wires are abit stiff.

I'm probably too used to those earphones with the right earphone wire longer than left so can go around the neck....probably that's the reason microphonics wasn't so prevalent before

Klipish Image S4 earphones seems like a good choice to me, with very comfortable ear tips and great sounds. They received great reviews from websites like CNet too.

U can buy it for about $150 at:
TC Acoustic Showroom
1 Coleman Street
#01-17 The Adelphi
