There is no specific z1000 email, it's just a monthly newsletter, at least for my case.

Sorry guys.. I still feel that $400+ is really expensive for a 16gb pmp. It has barely enough room for high quality audio files. If audio quality is not a concern for you, I suggest you to invest on a smartphone with an expandable card slot or the cheaper cowon z2.

No point loading this device with poorly encoded songs.

I wonder if there are any other alternatives to this player , with 4.3" display, 1080p video playback and good audio quality .

Like bloodaddict mentioned, 16GB really has barely enough room for high quality audio or even HD videos. It now really makes me think twice about purchasing it.

I really think Sony is out to screw their Singaporean customer base. It's ridiculous and I am pretty sure they know it. And they don't give a damn.

I got one question about video le...

Let's say I manage to get hold of a video that is 1080p... the screen play very big on my laptop... Then I put inside mp3, it will still be 1080p right? But if I convert to smaller size, will it retain 1080p?

1080p file will still be in ur mp3 player
but when u play it, it will be downsized to ur player's screen resolution.

Let's say it's just file support.

But if let say I downsized the video to the screen resolution, will it still be as sharp as the original 1080p?

Cause I don't see how I am willing to put over 100mb of anime video if i want to watch

Huh.. depends on the video quality itself. But definitely noticable in a side by side comparison (:. Why would u use only 100mb for videos o:..
