Need advice, thanks in advance. Sorry if this has been posted before, tried searching couldn't find.

Right now I'm using my blu ray player (Pioneer BDP-150) to stream mkv videos from my WD MyCloud DLNA server.

Problem is, the subtitles of the shows - whether embeded srt or separate srt file - are not being loaded.

Any advice / recommendation for tweaking or purchasing (another media player) to make this work?

Thanks! :)

Discard DLNA, acquire SMB

Jokes aside, if the DLNA server reencodes the video then it is possible to encode the subtitles.

DLNA soft sub support is wonky at best and requires some amount of luck to get a server and player compatible with each other.
