Fully configured box

Hi,

I am just starting to explore TV boxes.
After some reading, it seems that this Xiaomi box is quite good.
However, it seems to me that we have to download/configure the box ourselves?
An uncle like me is not very good technically, so that is a problem for me.
Is there some place or someone where I can buy a fully configured box from?
Thank you very much.

Any android smart device requires some form of configuration and installation. There is no such thing as fully pre-configured. Some sellers out there are selling "fully loaded" tv boxes pre-bundled with apps at ridiculously marked up prices but these apps are free or trial apps to begin with and are not guaranteed to last. When you encounter issues with the apps or box, the sellers will just push all responsibility and you are on your own. The closest thing to plug and play for tv boxes would be unblock ubox/small 7 box/evpad types but even then they still require some installation steps to be done before use.

Thank you for the clarification.
Is it very hard to configure and install the apps?
For someone who basically uses the PC to browse internet, and maybe purchase some apps for the phones etc..

Tried checking out the item from the first link (lightinthebox.com) but noticed that there's no free shipping and that it amounts to S$101 after shipping.

For geekbuy.com, its around S$94 with free shipping.

You have to be fast if you want to get flash deal offers.

Last week, it was $69 with free shipping from
https://shopee.sg/Xiaomi-Mi-Box-4K-U...6827.376675835

For those not intending to wait to catch the flash deal offers, below two sites might just be the best options to get MDZ-16-AB:

1. http://www.geekbuying.com/item/-Offi...ox-371297.html
S$94~S$98 with free shipping (price fluctuates at site)

2. https://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...608.0.0.HAT67h
S$97 with free shipping

Anyone with better current deals feel free to add on.

Hi
I'm looking for instructions on how to root Mibox2 MDZ-09-AA
hoping to clear some bloatware

does rooting & jailbreak mean the same thing?

Thanks!

Hi gregory
thanks ... I guess it's too difficult for me to root
so decided to get a new box (MXQ PRO+ 4K S905 Wi-Fi BT4.0 Android 5.1 Smart TV Player w/ 2GB / 16GB)

but seems still sluggish with only 12GB instead of 16GB
kodi reports AArch64 processor rev4 but only displaying 2 cores CPU utilization (thought S905 is quad core?)

are those normal?
