Very optimistic itinerary, I must say. Assumes, no queues anywhere, tickets are available instantaneously, transportation with no waiting time, no need to browse, wait for tables or food to show up; Most importanty, no time to smell the roses. :)
It's the run-up to New Year's Eve Day. Lots of people from all over descend on HK.
I also feel quite pack. but will most likely remove a few shopping mall for day 2.

Seems like the Macau part a little touch and go. Maybe you can leave it for another trip and have an extra day in HK?

My 7D in HK/Macau was 3D Macau 4D HK. I find to really enjoy Macau, need to have at least 2D.

Well, you have to consider, is travelling 2 hours to and fro on a ferry + ferry tickets worth to visit the Ruins and Venetian? If so, then by all means. There are people who do day trips to Macau so it really depends on what your purpose is.

I'm guessing you are not into gambling and so the visits to the casinos is to watch the lights so do the stuff you need to do in the early part of the day and do the casino hopping at night.

I find that in a trip, it is not so much of the number of places you have covered but rather having the time to enjoy what you intend to do. But then again, that is just me. :)

BCM, come back already?

I always does my Macau Day trip whenever i go hong kong. Maybe i can suggest my itinerary to you...

11AM Ferry to Macau Arriving about 12PM. Take bus 3 to Ruins of St Pauls and senado square.. Tea Break at Kimberly Cafe, then Taxi to venetian macau (MOP60). walk around, take photo, then take Taxi (MOP60) to Wynn Macau for Water Show. (There is a couple of shows in Wynn), Then cross the underground to Grand Lisboa, then Dinner at Roast Meat Store nearby.

after that, i took Bus 3A to Outer Ferry Terminal, 10PM ferry back to Kowloon...

Oh, there is a new Studio City that just open in Macau, maybe you could replace venetian macau with that...

Thats my 10 hours in Macau.

may want to buffer some time for queuing to some of the attractions.

when I went last month, I queued for 2+hrs for the nyong ping cable car on a sunday morning. it might be worse since u are going on new years eve.

the queue for peak tram was also more than 2hrs, so I took the bus from admiralty instead. bus was packed to the brim, but at least we managed to squeeze into the first bus that came after about 15min wait. going down also same long queue for tram, so took bus also.

citygate not worth going for me. been twice. still underwhelmed by the place lol. i'll do lunch there though.

for those who intend to do ngong ping cable car during the weekends, pls reach before 10ish. buy the tix beforehand online too (they are not anal about the exact timeslot you book), so you can already queue for the cable car ride upon reaching. i didn't have to queue during a normal weekend. no queues on my way down either but by then, it was noon and there was a long long queue for the ride up.

is Citygate worth going?

Is this going to be your first time to Hong Kong and Macau?

Citygate is not a must-go place, but I normally have brunch there (there's a foodcourt upstairs) before heading to Lamma Island. Then when I return, I'll just browse around without any fixed timing coz I'll just go off if I don't find anything interesting or worth buying.

No harm giving it a quick walk-through if it's your first time there. Same for Macau, a 1-day trip is possible, just try to start off early and don't plan for any important event in the evening that you've to rush back to Hong Kong.

It depends how thorough you want to cover those places that you've in your list. If you've anything specific you want to get/look, then give it more time. Otherwise just be prepared that you might end up doing a touch-and-go with some places.

I know the forum and elsewhere have suggested places to visit, but know that it's not possible to cover every one. Breakfast can be taken in the many eateries around your hotel, so you don't have to deliberately travel to one end for breakfast then travel again to a place of interest.

Don't feel too disappointed if you've to change anything on your itinerary at the last minutes - bear in mind that you're on holiday, take it easy. There's always another chance for you to go back to Hong Kong some day.

will remove fisherman wharf and the Chinese place from Macau
leaving me with ruins. taipa and venetian

the peak day will most likely go after lunch and leave the rest of the day for that and having dinner at peaks maks noddle.provided ladies street is near my apartment area might stroll it on the way back or worst comes to worst goes ladies street on the first day after sky100??
