Connecting Mio Tv STB to Pc Monitor, is it possible?

Connecting Mio Tv STB to Pc Monitor, is it possible?
As subject, I googled a while for answer, run through old post which some say can some say not. I recently bought a new Samsung monitor which comes with standard hdmi and vga. I understand that Mio tv setup-box has the hdmi output which I could connect but to my understanding that its only display on my monitor but no sound, anyway my monitor got no in-built speaker. I was thinking connecting external speaker to the setup-box using the 3.5mm jack to rca. Will this work?
 Anyone tried this before let me know. Thank you in advance!Regards, Joe |

hdmi output from MIO STB ma... sure work if you monitor accepts hdmi
