Its a house warming gift shared by a few buddies. 42" is suffice because the viewing distance only about 1.5m. Budget around 600-800? Owner only watch TV with their starhub setup box. They dont watch bluray, surf net or netflix.

Travel to Courts, Gaincity, Best denki, or Harvey norman also can. Mustafa or parasilk also no problem.

TIA.

40 inch skyworth fullhd selling at Giant for $299. Non smart and no built-in tuner but no problem since your friend already has a SH stb. Giant also have 2-3 other larger size skyworth models going for below $600 so you might wanna check it out.

If you looking for more reputable brands, can go for LG 43LF510 which is non-smart(qoo10 $500, NTUC fairprice xtra $550) or LG 43LF590 which has smart functions(Lazada $599)

If you intend to stretch to the max of your budget which is $800, you can head to mustafa and check how much they selling the Sony 43W800C for. Currently the rrp for this model is $1049 but i think Mustafa should be selling it cheaper.
