Question on Mounting bracket

Hi all,

Im planning to buy a samsung plasma tv but just wondering, will i be able to plug in anymore cables after i mount it on the wall? Some of the input/output are behind the Tv so was rather concern whether should i mount it or not.

Thanks all in advance for advise.

You should look behind the TV and see how much space you have and answer your own question. Measure the space you have.
Get the cables as needed and plug them in before you mount.

Wall Bracket Questions

When we purchase a plasma/ lcd with free wall mounting, are we able to choose the type of wall mount between flat, tilting, and articulating?
Or the agent will give us the cheapest?
If I ask the agent to mount a 42" plasma on my feature wall in bedroom, and in the future, buy a new 42" plasma different model different manafactuer, can I mount the new 42" plasma on the old mount?

Whether wall mount type is flat, tilting, and articulating, check with agent/installer to be sure.

In my case, Sony provided a tilting.

As for mounting new 42" onto the old mount, would say that most wall mount are not tv/brand specific so you are free to mount any flat panels. But take note on the weight and size limitations of the installed wall-mount.

If i were you, there is no need to worry for the future as most probably a new wall-mount+installation will be thrown in on the next purchase.

they confirm will not drill the holes for you.

if something goes wrong who will be responsible?

better ask your contractor to do it.

most likely the 'sony ppl' are 3rd party contractors too.

This is an extra service which you will need to pay for, sometimes the people who assemble your set may have the know-how, but you will need to pay.

wall mount bracket

Hi

I have a Samsung LCD and a Sharp LCD but did not ask for wall mount previously, so there was no brackets provided.
For my new place, I wish to wall mount the TVs. May I know is there's a generic type of wall mount bracket for all brands and model LCD TV available? Or do I have to go back to the manufacturer brand?

Please help.

Cheers

Wall mounting services

Hi,

I got a Panasonic 42" wall mounted recently but decided that it should be mounted higher.

The contractor for Panasonic quoted me $65 to re-mount it. Would I be able to get someone cheaper?

Many thanks.

Is it difficult to DIY? $65 for drilling a few holes sounds expensive. Are there any special skills required for mounting a flat panel tv? this is a geniune qns, cus I am thinking of DIY.

You are paying for labor...
Fair wage concept.
But if you do it yourself, save the $$.

to DIY, first you need the equipment and then the 1 manhour (newbie)

i think 30+ will be a reasonable price for contractor

Call up your town council hotline, they will be more glad to recommend you their term contractors contacts thoses that are reliable. However they wont be liable for any mishap that happens. Its just you and the contractor. (Touchwood)

:)

Hit the yellow pages online get few more quotes.

Currently I dun have enough post counts to post link/pics to show you my DIY wall mount I'm using for my monitor and keyboard. I'm sure this company has other range that fits bigger size of panel.

Their product are superior hence price also on the high end side.

Google search for 'ergonofit'
