Looks like it's finally coming at the end of January.

RRP is $798, way too overpriced for a mid-range phone.

its upper-mid range to be exact. but i agree its super over priced compared to its competitors. Even the overpriced Oppo R7 series & Galaxy A8 is at least $100 cheaper.

SERIOUSLY WHAT IS HTC THINKING EXACTLY? lol?

Heck, I probably wouldn't even class this as an upper-mid range device. The E9+ would probably whip the A9 over and over. The E9+ is probably what I'd call an upper mid range device, and the RRP is $100 cheaper, for much better specs, and BoomSound speakers. Haha. The A9, imo, isn't worth it.

I got a 16gb exported version with me now, have to say it does feel good in hand..
HTC probably thinking to match premium midrange pricing with their design. I definitely think that if the price is lower (around $550 - $600) & introducing all colour (including pink), it could really be a hit in SG.

they always fail with their pricing. they just can't seem to get the specs to match their asking price and their current market standing. it all just don't fall into place nicely.

lets just hope that after telco subsidy will make more sense... say $99 with a 2 years tie down?

they never learn, HTC produces good phone. but fail in pricing and marketing them right.

Seriously they are ASKING FOR TROUBLE.
In some countries it's actually cheaper, around the price range of between Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016), which make it seem attractive to people looking at the two Galaxy models too.
However in Singapore it's more pricier than the two Galaxy models mentioned ..:s22:
Anyone has an idea on any possible release date?
It's released already I think, but nowadays not much retailers bother to sell HTC handsets, and not much marketing is made to the public.
Telcos also don't bother bringing in HTC handsets nowadays too, which can roughly reflect on the customer needs of HTC in Singapore..

The HTC One A9 is available at all SingTel shops and authorised retailers!

Combo 1 ($27.90) - $518
Combo 2 ($42.90) - $398
Combo 3 ($62.90) - $198
Combo 4 ($82.90) - $48
Combo 6 ($102.90) and Combo 12 ($239.90) - $0

Overpriced for a premium mid-range phone. $82.90 plan still need pay.

I really wonder how many people will be willing to buy this unjustifiable phone.

Any insights to whether when the price will start to drop?
