Change the value circled in RED and click apply.

The default seems to be like 80mW.
I sit 1m away from the router when I am at my desktop and I changed it to 40mW. Still can access macbook about 15m away for both 2.5 and 5GHz.
Trying to minimize radiation if possible.

Agreed, just set whatever suit you, lower value also reduce the heat generated.

Yes, much cooler to the touch. I measured the surface temperature with an infra red thermometer and it reads about 38 C.

500mW for 2.4GHz band iirc.
250mW for 5GHz band.
on my router, it show the following;

Tx Power adjustment
FCC: max. 500mW for North America.
ETSI: max. 100mW for Europe, South America and APAC.

Does it really help if i pump up the tx power?

There's always a way to make it 500mW, just put location as North America, but of course, not legal la.

For my room which is like 25m away it helps!
I am getting 75% bar strength which is very good.

May be try meddling with the time zone setting?
