If what you want is a VPN server, here you go
Setting up a VPN-server on Amazon EC2 | No pain no gain

You don't need the ddclient portion, since you can use fixed elastic ip. There is no extra cost with elastic ip if you attached it to a running server.

No, why should that be ? Don't be mistaken VPN with VPC. VPC is potentially a much larger infrastructure that integrates your corporate network with a subnet in AWS.

Actually for the usage formost people in here for VPN is not really about security It's just a jumping board. But of course, some added security (obscurity) is always good.

VPN can be 2-way, it depends on who is the initiator, but the traffic flow is not limited in anyway, up to your routing skill set and requirements.

The whole idea about jumping point to point doesn't require VPN via PPTP or L2TP/IPSEC or SSTP. Just simple IP-in-IP or IP-in-GRE will do. Potentially PPTP is nothing more than IP-in-GRE with added encryption. But obviously, setup of PPTP is much easier with the necessary servers and client already available to most platforms. Configuring your own IP-in-IP can be challenging to most and also restricted to certain platforms only

If we want to just get Netflix or Hulu using StrongVPN, which package do we choose? Singapore or US?

I was thinking if I want to get Netflix, I need to use US server right?

The US one will do already. The cheapest one will actually do fine for just Netflix itself. Personally i find the open one has not much differences other than the 2048bit encryption and more servers to connect to.

Any recommendation on which VPN service provider I should go for if I want to watch movies that's hosted on China servers?

When I tried watching it on apps like PPTV, LeTV, kept saying I'm not residing in China so can't watch.

Thanks!

Best VPN Provider

Oh there is always a question to put up. In my experience of using VPN personally. I recommend you Hidemyass. It is far better VPN provider than others. It offers 49 Countries IP addresses. And many more user friendly features that i experienced through hidemyass
I advice you to check out this VPN Provider once. I got this VPN service through this page http://www.bestvpnservice.com/provid...e_my_ass!.html
