Dlink Starhub firmware update

Hihi,

has anyone updated firmware for their dlink routers to firmware of starhub? is it really better than before on the default firmware?

so far i have not updated the firmware, its working ok.

why dlink has specific firmware for starhub?
whats the difference between normal non-starhub firmware vs starhub firmware?

any experts have any idea?

Based on my cousin's experience, best to leave it unless you have problems. He updated and caused him slowdown issues.

This basically answers my fears.

Currently, the routers are not perfect, but when they have any problems, a simple off power, wait 5 mins, on back power seem to work.

half of me is hoping that by updating firmware, i maybe able to get them to work better. that said, i do not frequently need to restart the routers. normally once a month or once in 2 months.

However there are times occasionally like need to restart 2 times a month??

For 865L & 868L there is additional features & improvement.

868L improved on wireless beside others.
865L do added a bridge mode not available in earlier firmware as was looking for it.
Both are on 24/7 and never encountered any problems.
Updated early this year.

Not sure about 850L but some reported are good & fine.

Link to all 3 routers firmware latest version.

http://global.dlink-intl.com/starhub/#services

After updated do factory reset.

And there is a need to input password to settings.
The password is the same on the router white label.

For 850L.
There may need to update the firmware version accordingly.
Do read the notes on instruction.

Well this router 868L do have a similar function.
Autozoning or Repeater mode.
It auto assigned both SSID as same.
But applicable for same model only.
Trial was about 3 years ago.
