Hi all

Have just taken over a hdb industrial property to be converted into our office and workspace for our startup company. since it docent have any internet connection, we are looking into the local telcos for broadband plans. We noticed for business plans its significantly more expensive than home broadband, and are looking for advice on which telco to pick, if anyone has any experience let us know. On regular normal days we're looking to support 3-4 people on the same broadband network, with decent speed (at least 300mbps plans), and of course it has to be budget friendly as we are still a start up.

thank you for your help!

1) Get three quotes from M1, Singtel, Starhub and compare.
FYI business internet plans can never be that cheap
as home broadband.

2) Consult a system integrator and you need to
setup a IT infrastructure which comprise of:
- Server - Coy files hosting, website, Database
- Network infrastructure - Wireless, LAN points, VPN and etc.

https://www.ida.gov.sg/Programmes-Partnership/Small-and-Medium-Enterprises

Even with a staff strength of 3-4, your infrastructure ought to be
reliable to handle daily operations and future expansions.
Don't get consumer grade IT equipment just to save on the cost.

Yes they maybe cheap but in the long run not only your company
will suffer but your staff will be affected too.
There are funding by the Gov so seek IDA for further advice.

Alternate cheaper way to get a infrastructure is either by
leasing (Gov sectors are practicing leasing) or sign a contract
with a IT solution provider.

FYI by this topic itself, you maybe charge for consultant fee.
However this is HWZ forum so here we can only advice.
You may wonder what is the cost, unfortunately it varies
so there's really no estimate to how much may cost you.
All the best in your new venture.

Honestly there is no reason for business broadband same price as residential broadband because home user broadband are very basic. You can get quotations from the ISPs and they have professionals who can advise you accordingly.

Will the ISPs allow us to install home broadband plans even though the area is an industrial site? tks for your input

No, not possible due to regulations.
Alternate as shared in my post, can seek ICT funding.

If you only have 3-4 users just only need simple web surfing, there is totally no need for a 300mbps, to save costs, a simple 10mbps fiber or ADSL is more than enough for your needs. I would say go with Singtel, their business plan maybe slightly more expensive, but overall they would be better than the rest. Only you contact them, they will assign an account manager to you, then you bargain the pricing with him/her. I believe the best pricing now is $99/mth for 10mbps fiber, excluding installation and activation charges of $399.

Business plans are always more expensive, because of their ability to better customize connections and they can include SLA (service level agreement) like 99.5% uptime(excluding maintenance) and customized routing for your business needs. You won't get all these on consumer plans. And of course you won't get $49.90 for 300mbps.

The very basic and cheap one is $99 for 60 Mbps. See this:
