iPad as a laptop replacement

Hello peeps

Wanna ask those with experience backing up their mobile phones via iCloud backup.
If I restore to a new phone, will the app data follow? Example those games that save progress in the app and not in cloud

Planning to use a iPad instead of a laptop, will lose the iTunes backup in this case

Not an expert though. So far I only tried backup iPhone and restored to iPhone. Not sure if that will work if you backup iPhone and restore to iPad (something you meant)?

I doubt can, as the "backup" does recognise device type, i guess. so if you try to restore to iPad, it may not work...

I am not very sure though as never tried that...

Yes the backup will retain all data, including your apps.

How about the data in the app?
Say i play till stage 20 and the progress is saved in the app

I restore and i will go back to stage 20?

iCloud will allow you to restore all your previously backup devices.
At the beginning of the Restore process, it will prompt you to select from which "Backup Option" would you like to restore from.

Hope that helps.
