Email Setting for Office Mail under Singnet

Can kindly assist in helping me setup my office email on my iphone?

I have an office email signed up under singnet which I have tried but failed to hook up to my iphone running on 2.1

For example my office email is 123@abc.com.sg which is under singnet.com.sg , can someone kindly advise what is the setting to be keyed in in order to setup the account please?

Edit: Should i be setting up under Microsoft Exchange or Others?

Have you tried using the following settings?
Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.singnet.com.sg
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.singnet.com.sg

Oh, so incoming and outgoing should be singnet instead of abc (ie pop.abc.com.sg & mail.abc.com.sg) and username is 123@abc.com.sg right ?

It should be your company's mail servers... Check what they are using.. If you have the required levels of access, you can probably peruse the settings on the computer itself.

based on what you mentioned, it is high chance that your pop3/smtp is mail.abc.com.sg

Check the Mail settings in Outlook. Just use the same ones - they should work.

in dat case,

start outlook

tools -> e-mail accounts -> select ""view or change existing e-mail accounts" -> select the email account and click "change" -> under server information u will see ur POP3 and SMTP servers. leave the screen there and go to ur iPhone now and follow the steps below -> once done just click "cancel"

1) go to ur iPhone settings to set up ur email settings.
2) select "others" and key in all the required info on the first screen and press "save".
3) next screen is where u key in the info u found in outlook above. make sure u select "POP" on the top. (POP should be blue in colour). press "save".
4) u may encounter a SSL certificate error, proceed next step. if there is no error den ur email should be set up and ready for use.
5) if u get the error, select "cancel" and press "save" again. iPhone will now prompt u a message saying "mail might not be received....blah blah blah"...and an option will be popped out for u to edit or save. just select "save".
6) now, after saving u should be back at the Settings page with ur email account set up. select the email account u just set up.
7) scroll to the bottom and select "advance"
8) make sure SSL is "on" and leave the screen there
9) now go back to ur outlook and click "more settings"
10) select the "advanced" tab. u will see ur server port numbers. look for the incoming server port number. should be "110". enter the port number u see in the outlook into the iPhone
11) another thing to note is make sure the "delete from server" is set to "never". so that only a copy of the mail is being downloaded to ur iPhone and the original email still stays in ur email server until u use ur laptop to download the emails when u r in office.
12) once done u exit back to "Settings" page and ur email on ur iPhone should be working liao. to test, use any other web based email and send an email to ur office email. wait for a while den click on ur mail app in ur iPhone and it should check for new emails and receive the email u just send to ur office email.

As for outlook, jus press "cancel" all the way so u wun change anything accidentally.

It's not very expensive,
only about 148 per account.
Ok la, pretty reasonable unless you have a budget.
I have quite alot so i feel it's ok.
Then again, individual.

Cheers,

ipf
