Only possible by updating the firmware 5.0.1 on the iPhone 4S itself, Settings > Software Update.

Can't update 4S OTA from 5.0 to 5.0.1
I click update, the phone suddenly hang then black screen and turned off itself.
1st start up hang at apple logo with a bar below.
then try again, it booted up *phew*
Go back to Settings > Software Update, it showed 5.0.1 downloaded. But when i click install, it says
"Unable to Install Update: An error occured installing iOS 5.0.1."

Later go home then try to update from iTunes :/

I used wifi to update my 4S.

Hope that you're able to update the firmware.

saw some report that ask us to update to 5.01 for ip4s n ipad2...
some say dont...

so any1 know if we should upgrade?

Unable to upgrade from iTunes either... "Firmware incompatible" error message. Cannot even Restore from within iTunes either.

So from 4S itself, I "delete all contents and settings". Now doing restore from backup...

sigh.. hope can upgrade to 5.0.1 w/o anymore problems.

Update: Update over iTunes still doesn't work. But over wifi works now. Upgraded w/o problem.

only posible way to JB ipad2 is on os 4.3.3, via jailbreakme.com

for now, only way is to wait for 5.0.1 JB to come out.
