Am organizing a meetup on tips and tricks to visit Tokyo/Japan.

Date: 18th March 2012 (Sunday)
Time: 11.00am-1.00pm
Place to meet: Wilkie Edge (Nearest MRT: Dhoby Ghaut/Little India)
Fees: Free of charge (無料）

Agenda
-Buying a ticket? Which airline to choose?
-Changing money
-Getting from Narita/Haneda to Tokyo (with pictures,videos and maps)
-Tokyo's ez-Link card? (Pasmo vs Suica)-Understanding Tokyo's subway map: it's not so difficult
-Train Passes in Tokyo/Osaka
-Places of attraction: Tokyo/Osaka/Kobe/others
-I'm out of $$$!!! Nearby ATMs
-Outside Tokyo?? Dou suru?
-NIHONGO? WAKARIMASEN!!! Moving around using basic Japanese (credits to stars as well for his list)
-Things to note while travelling
-Protection: Prepare yourself to be radiated!!!

yes, i think I should be able to attend as well. Not going to bring so many leaflets and maps this time tho...darn heavy. Haha.

Maybe if I can know beforehand where you guys are planning to go so I can just bring the logistics for the relevant areas, which will help lessen my weightload greatly. Thanks.

If you are using JR pass to take Shinkansen around, then Shin-Osaka station hotel (or annex) is cheap and decent. Much easier to find that hotel than say Chisun Inn. But then again, there's more convenience shops around Chisun Inn than Shin-Osaka station hotel/annex, but the problem I have with Chisun Inn is that it's not easy to find that hotel and it's difficult to find a route to that hotel that doesn't involve climbing stairs, and also there's no mini-fridge in Chisun Inn...although that said, I can't recall if there's any mini fridge at Shin-Osaka station hotel annex either.
