Hi all,

I am planning to travel to Japan and propose to my girlfriend in late Nov this year. Looking for some recommendation on affordable photographer (probably below SGD250) in either Japan or Hokkaido to capture the surprise moment.

Anyone has any experience or recommendation???

Thanks in advanced!!

Congrats!!!

Just a comment, it is going to be very difficult to get a reasonable professional one with just SGD250. His or her work also includes scouting the location, planning for the angle, lighting etc., and also post processing. As this special moment is one off so one could not miss it.

I believe if you want to get a good one, for that particular special moment, in Japan,, you are looking at a much higher cost. For this, my friend actually flew someone over from SG (that was for Australia), of course, they have deep pocket.

I dont think you can find one for $250 but if you're under budget, perhaps can buy a camera and hid it somewhere. Just make sure it has a good mic to capture your voice or else it's just a person kneeling with lots of wind lols.

Another way is to find a willing local to take part. Shoot in raw and process later.

So far I have seen a few studios offering proposal shoot for 30mins from USD250. I came across this photographer (julieannphotoDOTcom) and she offered me an hour service of ~SGD160. Not sure if the photos would turn out nice?

As I am not pro at photography so I can't tell if her portfolios are good.

Do you think proposal in Tokyo or Hokkaido is more romantic and memorable?

Is the photographer based in Japan? If they quote you that rate, then go for it.

if you can find someone there at the price, why not? :s13:

Anyway given the budget I wouldn't say you might be able to get one that may be good though lol :s13:

You will never know until after..... it's a gamble....

Whether Tokyo or Hokkaido... it depends on the actual location.......

Just a few choices I found via google (the first 3 seems quite OK; the last 2 should be quite expensive)
