Appreciate all inputs thanks! :)

Yubari Melon? Saw boxes of it on the conveyor belt on my return flight recently.

If just eating there, fresh uni. Those exported are preserved in brine solution, so taste not as good.

Thanks!! Any good sake to recommend from Mega DonQ? Not an avid sake drinker but would definitely appreciate if there's a nice and smooth one hehe!

I also dont know sake ... just buy one with a nice looking bottle that fits the budget :s13:

It's not expensive. If not drinkable, sake actually makes a good marinade for beef.

I did ask a sake connoisseur once, and she said the Otokoyama (ç”·ĺ±±) brand from Hokkaido is reliable. Their brewery is in Asahikawa, free sampling.

are u flying Thai ?

Their check-in service at CTS is very good. We checked-in 2 sealed boxes of groceries in a IKEA bag. At check-in, they sealed the whole IKEA bag in a large plastic bag, then duct-taped it secure. Excellent !

I am going for 10 days in end Nov.

Are you using any data Sim card?

I am also flying Thai. Very good price.

But later found out Scoot has direct flight. Price is also as good.

I think TG will be a more comfortable flight and it's full service, food is good (especially return leg) with 30kg bags. The transit connection times are also good.

Wldnt consider Scoot unless it is considerably cheaper (I doubt it will be with all the extras).

I'm getting the Changi Recommends WIFI egg.

Yes I do agree Thai has super good fare! I won't really want to take Scoot because I don't want to risk any delays..

have tried Yubari Melon, in Yubari itself. JPY 500 per slice, 3 person share :o

it was juicy, but not as sweet as expected. prices vary, at least 1800 and up I recall from supermarkets

other districts in Hokkaido also produce melons ... even Mashu in Akan is known for its melons ...

having seen exhibits on how melons are grown, I guess the key thing is you get consistency in quality, sweetness, juiciness ? unlike melons in SG, some are bland, some sweet, some unripe
