I consider the chicken soup base as a more 'inferior' selection compared to the 7 nuts soup base, which is considered Marutama's 'popular' selection. I think on the menu this is known as the Aka Ramen - Marutama Original Seven Nuts Soup Base Ramen with Coriander. (correct me if I'm wrong, trying to rem off the back of my head) As for the charshu or toppings, I agree that Marutama's charshu is a little thin or lacking compared to Santouka, but thats their style I guess and most of the time, I do opt to add additional toppings when I dine at Marutama like Ajitsuke Tamago or Kakuni when I order my ramen there. (thus why I have mentioned on this thread in the past that usually dining at Marutama will be slightly more expensive compared to when dining at other ramen places)

1. Menya shinchan
1. Santouka 3. Ippudo 4. Noodle house ken 6. Ajisen 6. The one in liang court Other ramen shop dont leave any impression. Based onwhat other people say Miharu could be the best Ramen place for me. Like it salty, I hate it when food tried to adapt to local style. |

Aoba is really salty, but without any depth to the soup, unlike Miharu.

Daikokuya Ramen:
![]() mini size bowl - Sapporo Miso Ramen: chicken broth soupbase, topped with bean sprouts, corn, nori (seaweed), leeks, bamboo shoots, 1 sliced cha shu (pork loin) and served with springy and curly noodles. Soupbase not so strong taste, cha shu slightly hard. ![]() mini size bowl - Tonkotsu Miso Ramen: Pork soupbase still not so strong as santouka ramen. Soupbase does taste a bit sour, duno why. Noodles + other ingredients were gd. However what I like most is cha shu, tasty, soft tender with some fats, superb! |

Not too salty for me.. I like ramen the way it is, if they drop the salt it will go down lower. What bring Miharu down in my ranking is its noodle. It looks and taste just like a mass produced noodle you can get easily in the market.
Miharu have one of the best soup taste, otherwise it wont be up there in the ranking. Ken's standard drop eh ? I havent been visiting ken for quite sometime, dont like to go to orchard area The usual complain about Miharu is that it's too salty. But you can request for less salt - it's stated in the menu. Other than that, i think it's the best ramen around. |
