Now 10@claymore quite packed, esp during the weekends. Anyways, from the writeup, it seems like they might not have pop during the easter promo as the items are indicated as 'on the buffet spread'. So it might not be a loss tat you can't get a table afterall

i don't mind trying this as well as Straits Kitchen. ![]() Feast@east spead is very limited, n very local fare. I can only remember their durian pengat good. Got newspaper article even said our ex president nathan also goes there often for their durian pengat , although i tink i still prefer the brizo one more. Babi pong teh, n laksa quite okay. Salmon sashimi also pretty decent. Something like tiffany lunch in terms of spread n items even for their dinner.

Carey & Toons,
10@claymore, i went on Wed 4th April 2012, not crowded. Each about SGD70 odd, one of us (3 pax) ordered one glass of white wine - SGD16. One friend ordered the Penang Laksa (I don't take spicy/chilli), he finishes the whole bowl but didn't hear any comments. Ordered the prawn soup but never turn up. Their waiters look competent but they miss out my order twice. ------------------------- Spice Brasserie (Kitchener Road) weekday lunch - SGD 27++ (15% discount if using UOB credit card, paid around SGD25) Japanese: Salmon and Tuna is tasty, Sushi average. Asian (Total of 16 claypots spread excluding porridge section): -Roast Pork Belly meat is soft with crispy skin (not much fatty layers). -Steam Clayfish with glass noodle thai style (yummy TangHoon noodle), -Black pepper chicken (nice sauce which I pour onto my TangHoon), -Curry etc, didn't try the rest because of spicy issue. -(forget it's name, the cripsy egg cup (mini size) whereby u put the popiah fillings) -Salad bar Porridge (didn't try): 6 claypots - salted eggs, luncheon meat, etc Live section: Beef (tough) and Chicken Satay nice Prawn Mee Soup Tempura Carrot Cake Char Kway Tiao (nice) with generous clams, lup cheong, bean sprout and prawn. Requested for less oil. Stir fried vegetable. Dessert: kueh lapis is nice, cakes also nicer than claymore's, ice-cream much better than suki group, Ground Coffee bean kopi with milk, Twinings tea set. Fruits, dry fruits, Kueh items. (Think I remember a lot dessert items whenever I go buffet). Overall, it's value for $$. Lunch crowd is about 20 odd people. Nice couple seats available. ------------------ Plaza Brasserie (Beach Road) Sunday Brunch - around SGD45++ (15% discount if using UOB credit card, paid around SGD38) Seafood: cold prawns, mussels Japanese: Sashimi not as good as Spice Brasserie, sushi never replenish (I went around 2:30pm) Asian: -2 kinds of soup which I didn't try -Chicken rice (average) , -Cripsy Soft-shell crabs (yummy), -Sea-cucumber mushroom vege (average), -Druken Prawn -exotic Roti Prata with 2 types of Curry -Roast chicken Kebab -steam chicken meat dumplings Western: -exotic bread and cheese -ham, mashed egg mayo, tuna mayo -Salad Bar Dessert: Moist cheese cake is nice, Strawberry cake nice too. butter bread pudding not bad. Red bean soup, ground coffee bean kopi, ice-cream etc. Overall, not value for $$ for a Sunday Brunch and it's not replenished regularly. Spice Brasserie is definately much better than Plaza Braserrie in terms of environment and food. Bro, wats the carving you had? Which day you went? Did you try their other 2 penang dishes? Prawn noodles n laksa i tink. I remembered tat their prawn soup is sedap. The manager also claimed tat their laksa is veri good. Got diners specially come to their high tea just to jiak the laksa. Dunno true or not Last edited by tomzire; 09-04-2012 at 01:09 AM.. |
