Planning a short 1 night trip to Melaka. Need some recommendations for rooms which can fit 4 adults and 3 children. Preferably near Jonker Street and with ample parking near/in the hotel. Thanks.

Avoid hatten, if you want affordable 4.5 stars, either equatorial or holiday, both not more than $120 per room per night. Given the amount of people you have, you need 2 rooms. Else, go for mahkota parade. They have apartments that can fit your whole family. Not exactly a 4 star hotel though, more like 3 stars. If you got money to burn then stay casa del rio.

Stayed in Jonker Boutique Hotel previously. Location is good but the downside is you can hear noises from the streets and there is no lift. Courtyard @ Heeren was our first choice but it was fully booked during our travel dates. You can try. Heard good reviews about it.

Mahkota apartments are like staying at someone's poorly maintained house. Terrible condition, broken and damaged things and not well cleaned too. As this is used by large tour groups, breakfast becomes a war zone with food disappearing faster than they can bring it out.
Avoid unless you have really no other choice.

Thanks for sharing, coz I was looking at the possibility of trying this place out some day. I'll head for Equatorial instead, when the time comes. :s13:

Anyone can elaborate why Hatten should be avoided as well? :o

hi, if i take those buses from singapore to malacce, is the bus stop near to this hatten hotel?

Was just checking out the Easy Book Bus app from Android earlier and saw some buses from here do stop at Hatten. Need not register before checking so you might want to try for yourself.

Hatten hotel there is previously some complaints that the checkin timing is too long, especially during weekends, as sometime the checkin timing can be up to 2 hours. However, they have improved their operation and now should be ok.. their rooms are nice, location is good as well.

I hardly arrive/depart Melaka on a weekend, so that shouldn't affect me too much then. Thank you! :)
