the grab driver was appreciative we picked a spot away from the cab queues

How do you guys use Grab Car if you've say 6 people?

Do you book twice, or is there a way to get a bigger car with the app?
maybe you can try indicate on comments. but rarely got 7 seater car. just split 2 cars the fare also quite cheap.

Yup, I guess that's the best way. Thanks!

GrabChat Instant Messenger

So I've not taken much notice of this GrabChat Instant Messenger feature until a JB driver told me about it.

A GrabCar driver was telling me about this feature as he suggested I update my app, in order to use it. And true enough, most of the subsequent GCars I booked used it to communicate with me.

Instead of calling us to confirm our location, you'll see an icon of a car on the notification panel of your phone if the driver messages you. Good to learn some Malay language (it's after all our National Language!) and pick up some keywords along the way.

Or on the bottom of your phone screen where it shows the map location of the GCar and yours, you should see a phone and also a message icon next to the driver's name. If you missed the icon on the notification panel (cleared by mistake), you should see a number indication on that message icon on the bottom (like in Whatsapp).

uber/grab is less dangerous than taxi. because you need a id to register with them. and you go your account can know which ride you taken

for taxi they can just change their car plate and rape you. even if they dont change i quite sure you dont remember the car plate after being raped

Yes it's possible.

However do that note that the driver will likely call you to locate your pickup point, thus incurring overseas call charges if you're on roaming.

Not sure how Uber works, but on my Grab app that I have in my dual SIM phone, I edit my phone number in the profile info before I make my booking while in MY.

No surge i think rm6. Although there's a Grab stand at JBCC, i still prefer city square pickup at Jln Tun Abdul Razak entrance. Grab driver camps outside the dropoff pt for booking.
