Been using the singtel data roaming since last Wednesday in Hong Kong, shenzhen and Guangzhou. Works well in Hong Kong with 4g connection.

However in shenzhen and Guangzhou it is painfully slow with only edge connection. No idea why.
Hi s7460597,

Thank you for using our overseas data roaming service.

We are concerned about your feedback on poor connections in Shenzhen and Guangzhou.

Can you kindly drop us a private message with the following details so that we can investigate?

Thank you.

Hi IcYFl4mEz,

There is currently no discount.

The $10 discount was a promotion for targeted customers only.

Hope this clarifies.

Hi kenchi,

Thank you for using our overseas data roaming service.

Once you exceed the 1GB, you will enjoy discounted pay per usage charges that is equivalent to another 1GB plan.

Excess data beyond the 1GB bundled data on our preferred networks will be chargeable at S$0.019/MB (~S$20/GB) for ReadyRoam (11 countries) and S$0.0034/MB (~S$35/GB) for ReadyRoam (26 countries)

You can refer to our FAQ for more information

Hi Singtel, I'm a bit confused about the FAQ. Hope you can answer some questions if you don't mind:

1) If I'm reading the FAQ correctly, if I'm on pay-as-you-roam, I don't have to pay a surcharge for the initial subscription ($20), but if I exceed the 1GB data, I have to pay a 25% surcharge for the data excess?

2) Is ReadyRoam a subscription? Meaning will it automatically charge me again for a new month if I don't call in to cancel it?

3) I don't have to change any settings right? The network will auto-lock to the correct network overseas?

Lastly, just a feedback: Please include Malaysia in the package. I think you will attract a lot more people to sign up that way.

Hi 9931846,

Hope this clarifies.

Answer: If you're on pay-as-you-roam, any excess charges will have an additional 25% surcharge. If you sign up for ReadyRoam $20, there will be no surcharge. For example:

If you sign up for ReadyRoam $20, and exceed another 1GB ($20), the 2nd 1GB will be subjected to 25% surcharge. The total amount you'll be paying is $20 + ($20 + 25% surcharge which is $5) = $45.

2) Is ReadyRoam a subscription? Meaning will it automatically charge me again for a new month if I don't call in to cancel it?

Answer: ReadyRoam is a one-time subscription and it will auto-expire in 30 days. There is no need for you to call in to cancel it.

3) I don't have to change any settings right? The network will auto-lock to the correct network overseas?

Answer: There is no need to change settings, and there is Network Lock to protect our customers from using on non-preferred networks. In the event our customer has selected the incorrect network by accident, they can use voice and SMS, but not data.

(4) Lastly, just a feedback: Please include Malaysia in the package. I think you will attract a lot more people to sign up that way.

Answer: Thanks for your feedback, we will let the relevant team know.

I 've just subscribed to the Dataroam Monthly(Malaysia 1G S$10). Hopefully, the network in Malaysia will be as smooth I enjoyed in Beijing last month.

Hi Singtel, do I have to unsubscribe the Dataroam Monthly after returning?
Thnaks.

Hi vuzuuu,

Yes, you need to unsubscribe the service after you come back.

You can terminate via My Singtel app > browse add-ons > my add ons > select the plan and click unsubscribe.
