Have a peek in Joss Whedon's THE CABIN IN THE WOODS
![]() Synopsis from tribute.ca: Five college students head to a cabin in the woods and are given clear and clever instructions by "white collar" characters. Once the "victims" arrive at the cabin, it becomes clear that the plan was to lure the kids there to have them break the given instructions so that they could then be "punished." |

Critics seldom give high ratings to horror movies but Joss Whedon's highly original The Cabin In The Woods seems to break that tradition with a 93% fresh rating from rottentomatoes.com.
Critics' Consensus: Plenty of filmmakers have attempted to wring laughs out of horror clichés, but critics say few have pulled off that tricky balance with as much energy and aplomb as writer Joss Whedon and director Drew Goddard have in The Cabin in the Woods. As the title implies, the movie tells the tale of a group of teens who abscond to a rural retreat, where scary things happen. To say any more would ruin the surprise: the pundits say the Certified Fresh The Cabin in the Woods is a twisty, gory, funny, and thoroughly original horror hybrid that's one of the smartest fright-fests to come along in quite some time. |

93% fresh! Wow so high, better than Titanic and Hunger Games!

One of the best ways to thoroughly enjoy The Cabin in the Woods, is to steer clear of its trailer and go in blind. Don't read any reviews because there are plenty out there who are just plain lazy and in their plot summary hint at what's to come, or tend to reveal too much - heck, if you're that cautious, skip my review altogether, though I promise to tread really carefully. A film that's usually bad gets shelved for months before a release date, and this was delayed for 3 years, though due to its battle to resist being converted to 3D. Thankfully it stayed the way it is rather than to go into yet another senseless depth of field conversion that brings little value to the table, and along the way nothing else got created that resembled its brilliance, keeping it extremely fresh when seen for the first time.

Cabin In The Woods is simply awesome! What started out as a by-the-book slasher horror movie with conventional characters slowly evolves into something very different entirely. Saying anything more will simply give much of the fun and surprise away. So go watch the movie without any prior knowledge and you will have a blast of a time!

the storyline is quite interesting and new, not the usual teens-get-hacked-one-by-one kind of story. Quite a number of surprise in the story progress
My only complaint is that - there's not too many variety of horror at the cabin, would be good if more variety showed up before the final finale |
