Can NS be shorten to a year?
As a man in guards, my answer is yes. But I think OCs and sispec will take a year of ns already

our officers already take damn epic fast speed to promote from 2lt to LTA as compared to other armies. if shorten to one year, i really can't imagine.
best is just abolish

Nsf shouldn't even get officer rank. High ranks should be left with regulars.

it strange to think that US army benefits are lower than Singapore army and US army are really risking their lives

it strange to think that US army benefits are lower than Singapore army and US army are really risking their lives singapore small population so need to make use of army benefits to market its army. furthermore, US regulars sign on to serve their nation. no need to attract ppl to sign on. in singapore, ppl sign on as a career. if benefits and money no good, who would want to be in the army as a career. |

I dunno about others but in guards, we have outfield monthly. The rest of time is sleep in bunk. Sometimes when I see my bunkmate sleep from 7am-7pm I really wonder if they have died in their sleep or not
