Hi guys i planning to sign on CDO under EWOS scheme. I already went through my interview at cmpb and also did my medical screening. After that i called them and they told me they will call me up for a VA around dec.
I want to find more about the VA selection. Will regular and nsf be doing same thing for the selection? And what the selection be like?
I have seen alot of video of CDO trainning and already prepared myself. But the question is what will i be doing after i get my red beret. Most of my friend from spf and scdf so can't really get info for regular life in saf

How will you have passion if you don't know what you are getting into?

asking probing question to prevent you from making stupid decision.

What about CDO that appeals to you when you don't even know what they do for you to even claim to have passion for it.

Generally speaking, as a regular in the SAF, you will go through command, staff and instructional appointments.

As for CDO, there's also SOF to consider about.

That is why i already said they have cdo to come interview you and answer your question before you sign the contract. And also not 100% get in . Stupid decision? Maybe to you yes. Maybe to others no

I never say it is a stupid decision. I am asking probing questions to make sure you know what you are doing and not make stupid decisions because you think you know what you are doing when you don't know.

There must be a precursor to the interview with the CDO. There must be a reason why you even go for the interview to get to speak to the CDO. So the question is, what made you decide to go sign on, to go through the process of interview to get to speak to a CDO.

Don't think you are getting it. I'm not saying you shouldn't learn.

The passion must come from somewhere, some information you have previously gotten about CDO. If not you wouldn't even be passionate enough to go through the process of signing on.

So the question is, what about CDO that appeals to you.

Infantry operate more at Platoon level which mean the boss is PC & PS while making SC power more like a man. Commando operate more at Detachment (Section) level & this empower their DC more authority compare to Infantry SC.

Apart from Basic Airborne Course, your men will learn Basic Commando Training (+ 1 vocational training) while you learn Commando Section Leaders' Course (+ 1 vocational training). You will lead your detachment consist of signaller; medic; weapons specialist; small boat operator; sniper; demolition expert & etc for mission. All will trained at strike level for missions & depend on which companies you are posted to, you may learn reconnaissance & go for different missions. Ex-NSF will have 6 or 8 ICTs before stepping down depend on what they are trained for (strike or reconnaissance).

Along the way, 'office politics' will step in & you start to go related courses such as SAF Ranger Course; Parachute Jump Instructor Course; Military Free Fall Course & etc. Due to 'office politics' & limited appointment in Commando Formation (Not talking about those post out for tours & not easy to steal a command appointment in other formation that by right belong to other), most left SAF. Some have injuries & revocated to other vocation like Supply Supervisor & etc.

What i like about cdo is my own personal opinion. Everyone opinion is different. So does it really matter to you that what cdo appeal to me?

I still don't think you are getting it.

I am trying to say is, there must be something you know about CDO that makes it appealing to you for you to even talk about the "passion" to initiative the signing on process.

I am in no position to say whether your opinion is right or wrong.

What I am trying to say is, it seems suspect that you don't know much about CDO and yet it is appealing to you for you to even have the passion.

Cause you don't know about what happens after you get the red beret (if you get the red beret) which is essentially the most important part cause that's for like the rest of your life.

It doesn't matter to me, but it matters to you and if you don't even know what you are signing on for, I dunno how is that passion

You can see alot people sign on scdf and spf. Do all of them even know how to fight a fire or apprehend a suspect before they sign on?
Like i said dont know then ask and go learn. As simple as that.

At least they know what they have to do albeit they don't know how to do it yet. So at least they can claim they are signing on cause they want to fight fire save lives or apprenhend suspect to do justice.

You don't even know what you have to do and yet you said you are signing on cause of passion? If you still don't get what I'm trying to say, I fear you will really regret after signing on.
