I was searching about wireless mash when I saw this tread. I am very tempted to try this too but was thinking if I can buy the mash device instead of signing up with singtel? I also wonder if this also can provide me with an Ethernet connection too, like what the sinoji home plug can offer me.

anyone have any experience with this?

i think you can buy form singtel but its gonna be 200+ dollars if i remember correctly..

each unit has 2 ethernet ports. but the main unit will have one port used up as it connects to the router.

taken from singtel wifi mesh faq

How much is the WiFi Mesh?
The basic dual pack (with two pre-paired units) is priced at $10/month for 24 months, or $238 one-time, both charged to your bill. If you require any additional units, they are priced at $5/month per unit for 24 months, or $120 one-time, both charged to your bill.

also interested to sign up.

Yeh, hardware changes quite fast nowadays like smartphones.

My Linksys WRT54G lasted quite long until I was forced to upgrade anyway

well .. can buy off the shelf at $238 or pay monthly for 2 years.

either way same same la. where got gadgets still relevant after 2 years one?

i think the device will still be functioning, but newer gadgets with wider coverage/range/better performance will be available. thats how tech moves.
