Hi gapboy,
Wireless around the household == convenience of usage anywhere. It can not reach 100mpbs. Same thing for powerline. It's subject to the wires --> are they old or new? is the circuit stable?
We'll have to manage our expectations. Cannot expect to utilise the 100mbps to the fullest at any one moment. So long as your needs are served without resentment, I think that is good enough.
I have my living hall and room connected via a giga switch.
My actual setup:
ONT --> HW256 --> Buffalo (giga router, living hall) --> Zyxel gigabit switch (room, where most of my equipment are)
I wanted the giga connection between room n hall as I have a NAS streaming media (photos etc). I'm also using the connection for my Wii and Xbox360.
I hardly game. I use the fiber connection for surfing and occasional large downloads (linux distros, Adobe software etc). Gets a kick out of the Mb/s downloads.
