anyone experiencing issue? i tried to ping but like every 20 ping got 5 timed out...using Linksys EA7500 with Google DNS still the same
You need to do the setup according to the Quick Start Guide.
Follow according to the setup and finally to upgrade the firmware, must.
As firmware is most probably out AFTER the box is out for sale.

Please do refer to my posts in this link:

Linksys EA7500 by starhub

After completing the setup, do include the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi which is a useful tools.

I am on fiber 1Gbps plan but why my speed is 100mbps kind?

If you are using the new Linksys Router, do refer to the post ^above or link to my posts;
Linksys EA7500 by starhub

Others issues and solutions:

LAN cable should be at least Cat-5E and above, prefer Cat-6.

Using an used router, you need to do Factory Reset.
As most router do retain previous IP.
After Factory Reset, do power on the ONT first and wait for the PON indicator show green STABLE then power on the Router.
In this way the IP will come direct as 1Gbps to ONT then to Router.

If the above still do not work, then next.
Therefore, speed is still no good as way below 600Mbps, then contact HOTline 1633 direct to Broadband Tech support.
Request to do Refresh ur IP and follow their procedure.
If the line busy, call later as it may take several minutes to resolve online support.

I doubt the router is the issue, do you have a ONR or ONT? try connect directly to it via lan cable then ping.

I am currently having this issue as well, infact, since Wednesday.

There is no ONT for sale in the market.
As i had encountered someone trying to buy from Challenger and staff said none.
As most of the setting are preset by ISP(s) themselves.

yesterday they called tell me their backend no issue, so must be my problem. replied them when i directly connect my working laptop to port 1 of the ONT the issue still there, then whose problem? replied they will continue checking and see what they can do.

now today i think they hired a few network shamans to bless their backend because they said the issue wasn't because of their backend, but i didn't touch anything on my side.

Did the broadband tech support staff did Refresh ur IP or request them to do it.
There could be possible a virus in the computer system that caused this issue, as i had found out.
In the end i use a Microsoft install n uninstall prog to get rid of the unknown software/virus even my 2 AV unable to resolved, bloody useless.

Not to insult your intelligence but they probably did something to their "backend" which had "no issue".
I did nothing.
Don't blame my devices for their ********, I go school no issue but go home have? What the virus so advance only target when I connect to starhub internet?
What absurd ********.

Nothing new, they are cheap if bundled together with their tv service. That's about the only positive. Poor tech support, poor overseas routings and poor network performance. Have experienced on numerous occasions latency spike and poor speed during peak periods, not sure if it is still the case now or they have made any improvement.

Their latency to some Europe based servers are almost twice that of Viewqwest. Overall their latency to US servers are also higher than that of M1 and Viewqwest. As i mentioned before they are decent for general use, however if your main usage is gaming and streaming video content (netflix, streaming sports events or anything that requires openvpn or dns setup), just skip them and save yourself the headaches.

Anyone has terrible internet after switching from the old D-LINK router to the starhub Linksys router?

My neighbor yesterday re-contract and was given a new linksys router from starhub.

His laptop/mobile and whole family keep having slow connection to internet.

Example, Youtube 1080HD video like playback on a 3G network (pause and pause). While switch back to dlink same video okey. (we actually test more than 1 video)

Check ping 192.168.1.1 getting 1ms reply on LAN cable.

Had also updated the firmware for the linksys. Not sure anyone else faced the same issue.

- We also switch to google and opendns but still face the issue.
- Slow connection on LAN (laptop) and wifi (mobile, ipad)

I know this might sound like starhub's technical support
but has he restart the ONT?
try factory reset the linksys router? (yes i know you flash new firmware liao)

you ping the router no issue doesn't mean from the router go out no issue.
try connect laptop direct to the ONT port 1 and ping google or something

Beside Factory Reset as mentioned above ^^^ post.

Contact HOTline 1633 direct to Broadband Tech support line, not CS.
Request to Refresh IP, as most likely IP may not be stable in some.
They also could check if the there is possible of multi IP in their end.
In either ways, it is best to Refresh IP and monitor, which it could resolved as this happened to me.
