That's why I feel 1516 about having to buy it when it has no warranty even if it's value for money. Too bad Xiaomi sg does not have the initiative to sell it locally

I doubt they will do so. Cus by the time it is sold officially in sg, the price will be marked up by at least 200-300. Even the 13.3' model china xiaomi seling for 1000, and on lazada can see it selling for 900+.

I find paying close to 1k a laptop and yet having no warranty is quite a huge risk to take. Moreover, the quality and reliabilty of Xiaomi products are not yet known...

I was also considering getting this laptop, but think wld rather pay few hundred more for warranty, and a piece of mind when my product breaks down and can get it fixed a service centre?

Collected my 12.5" from MUNION a few days back. Wasn't expecting to get the 7th gen CPU as the listing stated 6th gen. Converted my windows to English and didn't find any issue with it.

Mi Air 13.3 price looks good. Wonder what will the mark up be when it reaches our shore.

Considering getting this laptop for uni, is the 2017 worth the higher cost compared to the 2016 version?
Carousell seller offering the 2016 model for $1060 with english OS. How much does the 2017 model cost?

Since the 2017 model has a better GPU, does that mean it will have lousier battery life than the 2016 since it would require more power?

Thanks

Get the 2017 version. The MX150 is a huge improvement over 940M in terms of performance. MX150 might be even more power efficient that the 940M which give you better battery life instead. $1060 is very exp for a 2016 model. Cheapest I saw was on Qoo10 ~$878 after $100 coupon discount. Reinstalling English OS doesn't cost a single cent.

Which seller is that on Qoo10? For the $878 are you referring to the 2016 or 2017 model? I searched on the website but all of the 2017 ones are at least $1200, how do I get the $100 coupon?
